Ubiquiti network equipment has worked great for me over the years. I have a ton of their stuff. That's the whole reason I even considered their cameras. What may make sense for me is having their cameras set for overview areas, and then Dahua for detail areas. That way, I get the fast, easy to...

Like this stuff. I'm just tired of dealing with it. I do want the easy button at this point.

I'm just tired of fighting with the Dahua stuff. Use this browser for this, plugin for this, this app on this phone for some things, this app for that. I've had 20 something cameras for these last 11 years that I search through for things like, "we had a customer pick up something last Wednesday...

This is a N54B3P12 on the latest firmware available to it. Maybe that one doesn't have export capabilities. I've tried the browsers, and I usually just use Pale Moon.

So, I added in the T54IR into my Dahua NVR, and I do get the VMD for it now. But, I don't see the option to Export from there like you show. I also don't see a way to see ALL VMD thumbnails for ALL cameras in one screen. It looks like you have to jump in and out of different screens for...

My cameras are older Dahuas that I'm looking to replace. They only have Smart Plan options for Face Detect and IVS. There is no VMD on these older cameras that I can find.

Mine looks to only be capable of IVS.

My setup must not have that capability.

I'm guessing that's dependent on camera?

    Like this?

I would too, but the combination of the daytime video detail further out and the Protect features of finding clips easily, has me wanting to see the true capabilities of this camera at night. I could see using these as overview cameras to find incidents fast with the AI thumbnail features, then...

The case was escalated with further testing being done. There is a log to look at what the camera is changing its settings to along with Unix timestamps to correlate events. I sent those to Ubiquiti after running this last night. This was with HDR off and Shutter set back to Auto.

They're neither completely dialed in. I'm having to make small adjustments to the T54IR under different scenes to get identification capability. The G6 Pro is on Auto for pretty much everything except Exposure is set to "Frame Clarity". I've been pretty happy with the G6 Pro for daytime compared...

I do like how the T6 Pro handles shadows during the day. It will take some more tinkering with the T54IR to dial it in. Currently, it's set to 0-6ms, 0-50gain. Exposure Comp may help.

This is the footage after the update. I think there is some improvement, but there is still ghosting. I turned on the OSD. It looks like it puts the shutter speed on there. I don't know if I would have changed it to something besides the 1/120 that it shows. There is a good bit of IR light on...

It looks like better ONVIF support is coming to UniFi Protect

I meant the ones from Unifi cameras. The ones from the Dahua cams aren't great. But, I was happy to have even those if it wouldn't have been alot of bugs at night.

Those thumbnails sure are nice in Protect.

That's what I did. I was all excited until the bugs came out at night.

Ubiquiti support just sent a message asking for me to install a test version of Protect and report back. I'll do that and run a new test tonight.

That's why I did the test 40 minutes after sunset. I wanted to see what would happen right at that time when there is a twinge of light in the sky. The G6 Pro had already switched (probably because it is in more of a shadowed area) and the T54IR changed right after the test. There were...

Yeah, Chrome works just fine with the T54IR. I have some older Dahua cams that required the plugin and Pale Moon. Not so with the T54IR.

I didn't force color mode on the T54IR. I let them each do their thing. As I said, I'll need to do some tweaking.

I may end up replacing Dahua with Dahua. It was a pleasant experience not having to use a plugin or open the T54IR in Pale Moon to configure it. I have a bunch of old Dahuas, and that was a pain. The out of the box experience with Protect has been light years ahead of what I am used to with the...

At home for testing, I'm just using the UCG-Fiber. I'm testing these to see which way I want to go for work. I have a bunch of old Dahua cams and NVR that I'm looking to replace. I use Ubiquiti for networking, so wanted to test their cameras. I don't really care for the Dahua NVR.

I'm hoping to push support on this and see what their remedy is. Hopefully, enough people will come forward with clips where they aren't able to identify a face at night, so they will fix it. I like the daytime video from it very much, and I like the Protect software so far.

I'm going to wait on support to finish the ticket. I'll probably still keep it in a location where I need a large overview and not detail.

I wanted to do the same test as yesterday with both cameras 40 minutes after sunset to see what settings for the T54IR I needed to tweak. They both need tweaking. Fortunately, I'll be able to do that at a more precise level with the T54IR.
