Ok so I tried it without all the other cameras, I tried various ports but it’s still the same. I’m going to take it off the mount, I have other POE switches I can try and I can open it and see if there’s anything mechanically broken.

Its connected to a DS-7608NI-K2/8P with 8 channel POE, 7 cameras in total, just the one PTZ. Should I try removing all the other cameras and try the ptz on each port?

I meant I forwarded the relevant ports, not opened every port lol Got the app working remotely now.

Hik replied to me today, asked for more info, I sent it and they send the files, sadly they won't reset the cams, I get a message 'Failed to reset password - Other 2001' I replied to support again but they are closed now.

Thanks for all the replies. I have sent the files to Hik support, hopefully they send me the unlock. I have all the cameras mounted now and cables routed apart from the ptz, they are all connected though and won't be touched until I have a reply from Hik.

I plugged the laptop to a poe port and loaded SADP, this is what I see, only two cameras connected still. I can see the ip address now. These cameras didn't come with a default password. Can I use TFTP to reflash them back to default?

Yea and it says user password error. Am I right in thinking that it set the admin password to each camera when you activate them? I didn’t realise this at the time I first plugged them in to test.

I’m confused too lol. I’ve got SADP latest and I can see the cam, but I can’t see a reset to default. There’s a forgotten password button, it wants to create a file to send to Hik but it fails to generate the file.

I’ve plugged a camera into my computer, set my computers ip to 192.168.254.1 and I can now see the login page, but I don’t know what the password is. The forgotten password button isn’t much help, it just tells me ‘no answer for security question’. No other options.

Mine show as 192.168.254.2 upwards
