    Retail Business needing 36 cameras

Well I guess I have over three hundred bad installs. Funny though my customers sure like me and tell me their systems work better than anybody else's. And I wouldn't know anything since I've only done this since1990. My customers just want perfect video, ease of operation and a decent price.

Multiple locations under one centralized system

I use Hikvision. I go through 200 cams and 8 NVR's a month when I'm busy but I don't like working everyday. I'm also a distributor. Been in the Electronics business since 1978. Video Surveillance 50% of my business as I'm heavily into access control, scada, telemetry, wireless, cell phone...

Multiple locations under one centralized system

Software shows each NVR just click and see it. Hope the owner has fiber at each location....Remember it's all about the uplink speed at each site... You could monitor a camera or two from from each site....and see 10 to 20 sites at one time....

Multiple locations under one centralized system

I just did a 18 site system. NVR at each location and owners just log into each NVR for viewing and configuration (rarely needed) Very Simple and cost effective and owners are very happy with the results.

    Retail Business needing 36 cameras

Hikvision makes a 32 cam Network Video Recorder. 16 direct POE (power over ethernet) connections on the back and then use a poe switch for the other 16 but that is still a few ports short. Are you sure you need that many cameras? I don't recomend computers for recorders. Have a nice day.

    DS-2CD2332-I IP66 4MM Noobie advice

Glad you got it going. I would recommend getting the cameras from a real US distributor.. I install Hikvision everyday and never have a problem...and I use many of the high end 30x PTZ cams and only use Hik NVR's....and everything has a three year exchange warranty... I don't have time to have...

    DS-2CD2332-I IP66 4MM Noobie advice

The code must be entered into the Hikvision SADP tool in the Serial code box (called Security Code in later SADP versions). The camera will compare its internal date and time with the date and time you have entered above. The Serial Number and date much match perfectly or else the code will not...

    DS-2CD2332-I IP66 4MM Noobie advice

You won't see the video with chrome. admin 12345 I had a customer that changed his NVR password and forgot it. I was able to use the code generator on this site to unlock it but I don't know if it works on cameras. I purchase everything from my US distributor so I never have and problems.

IP address vs Nic IP address in Hikvision NVR

I use to install many cams with a 32 gig sd card and used 4200 or IE to connect. Still nice to easily log directly into the camera for any fine tuning. Have a good one.....:peaceful:

IP address vs Nic IP address in Hikvision NVR

If you add the cameras manually you can stay on the same subnet. But still might have to plug your computer into one of the POE ports on the nvr to correct directly to the camera

Anyone get in camera motion detection working with Axis or Mobotix?

I'm a Axis dealer but use Hik as they have two different lines. Most of my installs are commercial on tall poles or in the country at large warehouses covering many acres. I get false alarm off Axis dome cameras when cars drive by and the headlights shine into the dome even thought the camera...

Anyone get in camera motion detection working with Axis or Mobotix?

I don't use motion detection anymore, to much recording of bugs, spider webs and rain. I install a motion sensor at each outdoor camera that connects directly to the external sensor that each hikvision camera has, far superior to the camera motion detection. Lucky for me I do this for a living...

New to home IP security systems

I use Hikvision Cameras and NVR's with built in POE Switch. Works fantastic. Use about fifty cams and three or four nvr's a month. The nvr's can support some other brands of ip cameras.
