    Blue Iris setup...my power usage...

Blue Iris reports 15 FPS, which I set in Blue Iris and the cameras themselves. No overlays. I’m confused on why Blue Iris reports CPU at around 17-19 and Windows Task Manager reports it as 6-9.

    Blue Iris setup...my power usage...

I’ve enabled HW acceleration in BI, not sure if I need to do it somewhere else as well. I have entered the license key. I am viewing the cameras on a local monitor, but keep BI minimized. Is there a better way? If there is a better way to do it, how? And why? One thing I forgot to mention...

Well..anyone know a way to mount this camera to a square junction box? Wherever I had them drop Cat6 when building the house...they dropped them in junction boxes and then bricked/drywalled around it...and then installed a plate over the front. So...good news is that there is plenty of room to...

I'm looking for one that's really low power, no fan, and unmanaged. I'm thinking this one maybe: https://www.amazon.com/BV-Tech-Gigabit-Switch-Ports-Uplink/dp/B0754P9KLN/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

So basically if I'm running a max of 7 cams, and I round it to 10w...I need to find a decent 70ishw POE switch.

Hmm, that appears to be 10/100 on the POE ports? Is that right? I'd like a 10/100/1000 switch.

I'm planning on getting 6-7 of these cameras for around my house. I'll be running them to a POE switch...probably one of the BV ones on amazon/etc. Whats the power needed to operate the ZE? How many watts?

    Dahua Starlight - Indoor?

I see the Z and ZE still mentioned a TON for the go-to Dahua Camera. All the shots I see of them are outdoors though. What about for a camera inside the house? Stands to reason they'd work just as good, correct? Or is there a better choice?

    Blue Iris Connection Questions.....

I'm working through setting up Blue Iris now. I'm running a box with pfSense 2.4.1 as my main firewall/router at the house, and have OpenVPN configured on it, as well as OpenVPN Connect on my iPhone. Turning wifi off on my phone so that I'm connecting remotely, I turn on OpenVPN connect, and...

    VPN Primer for Noobs

Got it, so....what is he referring to when simply "forwarding ports" to an NVR or Cameras? Just to be clear, with what I have setup, I am NOT doing that, correct?

    VPN Primer for Noobs

When you say "NEVER FORWARD PORTS" are you talking about doing that OUTSIDE of the VPN protocol? For example I've just setup VPN on my pfSense box, OpenVPN to be exact. I know that it's going to use UDP to "listen" on a specific port, for my VPN connection. Is this ok? Am I safe doing this?
