DS-2CD2387G2-LU 4mm 8MP ColorVu out of focus, black pixels when zoomed in?

You'd need to compare the distance to objects e.g. distance from the camera to side fence etc. Your camera may be higher off the ground and doesn't appear to have any close objects in view. The focus can be adjusted to bring closer objects into focus, but it will affect the focus on distant...

DS-2CD2387G2-LU 4mm 8MP ColorVu out of focus, black pixels when zoomed in?

You could try refocusing it- there may be an improvement.

DS-2CD2387G2-LU 4mm 8MP ColorVu out of focus, black pixels when zoomed in?

That will be because the minimum focus distance is 6.2m for the 4mm model. from DS-2CD2387G2-LSU/SL

NVR ds-7608ni-i2/8p firmware upgrade gone wrong.

Region locked firmware seems to be the main thing to watch out for with the NVR's. Mine was bought in Australia and I came unstuck updating it to overseas firmware. (Now it's locked to overseas firmware and Australian firmware doesn't work!)

2CD2387G2-LSU/LU Tear down and refocus (with pictures)

There's a minimum focus distance - anything closer will be out of focus. It's given in the spec sheet and varies depending on which lens is fitted. You could adjust the camera to focus on the closer objects, but then distant objects will be out of focus.

Attempted firmware upgrade on Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2/8P gone bad.

Did you try installing an O/S firmware first using that method? In all honesty the Australia NVR firmware support sucks and is so far behind... that's the reward you get for buying genuine Aussie stock and supporting local businesses! Mine is running the latest Euro firmware, but it...

Attempted firmware upgrade on Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2/8P gone bad.

Make sure your NVR isn't region locked before trying overseas firmware. If you bought it from a Hik Australia retailer it's likely to be locked.

Unable to connect laptop to Hikvision NVR 7608NI/I2/8P - previously no problems

Thanks, it's working. It was a combination of things by the look of it. For some reason when the USB C ethernet adapter is plugged in it comes up with 2 ethernet adapters listed in the Network settings (yet the adapter only has one and the laptop none built in)- I was changing the properties...

Unable to connect laptop to Hikvision NVR 7608NI/I2/8P - previously no problems

NVR LAN IP is 192.168.1.64, I set the laptop adapter IP to the same when trying a direct connection between the two.

Unable to connect laptop to Hikvision NVR 7608NI/I2/8P - previously no problems

Oh yeah, I checked with SADP on the laptop and it can see the NVR fine. I also restarted the NVR.

Unable to connect laptop to Hikvision NVR 7608NI/I2/8P - previously no problems

I was wondering if someone would have any suggestions on what I could be doing wrong with connecting a Windows 10 laptop to a Hikvision 7608 NVR's LAN port. I've done it many times in the past, but nothing I've tried will get it to work now. I'm not sure if it's memory failure on my part or...

DS-2CD2387G2-LU 4mm 8MP ColorVu out of focus, black pixels when zoomed in?

The one I have issues with was bought from an AliExpress seller (not a forum member) and I noticed the bottom seal on the box had been broken. So anything could have happened to it. I guess they know people are unlikely to pay the costs to return a camera to China. I have had issues with other...

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

That's a common thing here, they all wear hoodies and covid masks (or balaclavas.) Vehicle plate identification is often useless here too as stolen vehicles are used or stolen number plates are often fitted.

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

It's an issue with that is worse with that camera. I was looking at the 4MP Colorvu and the minimum focus distance was worse (IIRC) for a given FOV. (Could be wrong there.) The low light capability was very high on my priority list, plus more pixels to improve the chances of getting more detail...

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

Ignore the useless responses posted on here by someone who has never seen the lighting conditions at my place. That camera came badly focussed from new, with the LHS being worse. I adjusted it (as best I could) but the LHS is still out of focus compared to the rest of the picture. You'd need...

AcuSense camera's with an AcuSense NVR

You should be able to set that up to occur by using the Smart settings on the camera's GUI, then set the Action/ Trigger to"Notify Surveillance Centre" (IIRC.) I've got an older 7608NI-I2/8p and the cameras send the Smart Alerts to the NVR for Humans/ Vehicles fine. Mine seems to do that as...

    Hikvision not detecting vehicles

I haven't played around with that on mine, so don't know. Be very careful that you don't lock yourself out by resetting everything.

    Hikvision not detecting vehicles

You log in by hooking a laptop via the NVR lan port. Use Internet Explorer 10 and you need to set the laptop network address to match the NVRs -192.168.1.1 from memory?

    It would easily do 2MP.

    Hikvision not detecting vehicles

You might need to update the NVR firmware. That and check you've got "Notify Surveilance Centre" ticked on "Linkage Method". I also use Motion and Intrusion detection rather than line crossing and tick the Human and Vehicle boxes. You need to set it up on the camera's webpage logged in on your...

CCTV for human/vehicle detection and alert

Get the cameras that support AcuSense. IIRC there are very limited AcuSense capabilities on the NVR's that support it- like it's only a low number of cameras running at low resolutions. I'm running four Acusense cameras on a 7608NI-I2/8P. They sure beat all the false alerts I was previously...

Non linear HLC control on DS-2CD2387G2-L(U) (Colorvu 8MP) - possibly affects other models.

I've updated to the latest Euro firmware from here https://www.hikvisioneurope.com/eu/portal/?dir=portal/Technical%20Materials/00%20%20Network%20Camera/00%20%20Product%20Firmware/G5%20platform%282xx3G2%202xx6G2%28C%29%202xx7G2%28C%29%203xx6G2%28C%29%203xx7G2%28C%29%201x83G0%29/2xxxG2%28C%29...

Non linear HLC control on DS-2CD2387G2-L(U) (Colorvu 8MP) - possibly affects other models.

There's little to no effect with WDR from 0 to 40, then a massive step at 41.... followed by next to no change up to 100.

DS-2CD2087G2-LU settings to deal with motion blur and identification

Yes, I was just experimenting with BLC, HLC and WDR to see what happened. I know it's undesirable at night or to have WDR too high during the day. I'd given up on HLC at night because of the big step at 41, but then discovered (by accident) it's effect was reduced again at higher values.

Non linear HLC control on DS-2CD2387G2-L(U) (Colorvu 8MP) - possibly affects other models.

The 8MP DS-2CD2386G2-I(U) is also affected. WDR also exhibits a similar step on both models, but around the 50 mark IIRC.

DS-2CD2087G2-LU settings to deal with motion blur and identification

I was experimenting last night and WDR shows similar behaviour. IIRC it was more around 50 where it stepped though.

DS-2CD2087G2-LU settings to deal with motion blur and identification

Try up to 1/150 and enabling the HLC - note my recent post on how the HLC isn't linear on the 8MP Colorvu. Non linear HLC control on DS-2CD2387G2-L(U) (Colorvu 8MP) - possibly affects other models.

Non linear HLC control on DS-2CD2387G2-L(U) (Colorvu 8MP) - possibly affects other models.

Has anyone else noticed the non linear response of the HLC control in the 8MP Colorvu cameras? See the image below, top pic is with HLC set at 40, middle is 41 (note massive change in scene) and the the last pic is with it set at 100. It's almost as if the highest HLC setting is 41and after that...

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

Andy, it's the lack of light out past the front of the car- on the street and in the yards of the houses across the street- causing the issues at my place. It's hard to see anything across the road with your eyesight at night- that's how dark it is. I've got multiple lights on the house, but the...

Which 4k/8mp color night vision cameras???

For getting decent results (capturing moving subjects) the exposure time is critical- that's why both were set at 1/150 s. (1/150 for the Hik, 6.67mS for the Dahua.) I chose 1/150 as that is what I've been running since putting the Colorvu's up. The Dahua has manual gain control- as I mentioned...
