I'd like to figure out how record an audio stream along with the camera. I know that the camera can supply audio as a G.711 stream. That's pretty low quality. Can anyone think of a way to capture better quality audio? Even if I had to add it as another camera (of sorts.)

The NVR4104-P arrived. I have a drive installed and it is successfully recording from both the camera and the HDMI encoder. I still have one question about it. There's an RCA audio input. Is it possible to record this input along with the IP sources?

I use Grandstream cameras that have IR night capability. IR cameras have a set of IR emitters (looks like LEDs) round the lens. At night these cover the dark room in IR, which the camera can see. The image goes gray scale in night mode, but it's sharp and clear.

Before I return this device I should perhaps try to update it's firmware. It's supposed to be an OEM version of the NVR3018 from 2013, made for Kenuco. The docs say I should looks to kenuco.com from firmware updates. However, I cannot find anything there. Would Dahua have an update?

Argh! This little unit is apparently a model from 2013. It looks nothing like that. It was only $100. It may hafta be returned.
