    VPN hardware

Hi, I’m looking for some suggestions on a hardware VPN to use. I have an Orbi RBR50 and tried to use the software VPN solution using the .ovpn file export but it worked in the past and stopped working. Also the Orbi web interface is terribly slow. Tried to export the new file to my iOS device...

You can do a search for BL1-AL and you should be able to find it. It’ll be made by Hadco or Phillips. I happen to come across a few of them on Craigslist and luckily the camera fit in there nicely. Just try to find any large bullet flood spotlight and it should work. Hope that helps!

    How-To: Audio Inputs

What a great idea on the spare stereo cords! You're right, there isn't a lot of real estate to tuck behind. Thanks!

Is this what I am looking for? White wire goes to the + and black wire goes to the - correct?

    How-To: Audio Inputs

I'm trying connect an external mic to my SD49425XB-HNR but I think I'm missing an adapter for my audio in wires, am I looking for something called an HD video balun? I currently have a POE splitter and these are the two mics I am testing. Feels like I'm missing an adapter for these skinny...

    IPC-HFW7442H-Z4 4MP review

Is this car parked on the street or is it parked in a open parking structure looking down? Those images look great. I have mine mounted on a 9ft. light pole looking out to the street and trying to achieve your results with this camera.

Wait, it's on a mobile pole? Is the camera mounted all the way on the top and zoomed in all the way?

    In ground camera placement ideas

I think there’s a lot of glare and hazy from the glass lens so more tinkering tonight and took the advice and just popped the glass out and did some Plasti Dip work on the camera. Was thinking I can set the camera in the fixture and then run a bead of black silicone around the camera to keep it...

    In ground camera placement ideas

I just found out only one of my direct burial cables are working. For some reason the other one is dead, so bummed out. Now I’m looking for a self powered splitter and hope that works. Any recommendations? I only found one on Amazon. Put the lamp together quickly tonight to test it without IR.

Played around with this fixture tonight and it looks like it might work. It’s a pretty tight fit inside so I’ll need to see if anything needs to be added inside to cushion it bit. Looks like I won’t be able to use the IR because of the glass. I would have to strip the cat6 cable shielding to be...

    In ground camera placement ideas

Thanks for the mounting and camera suggestions. I'll give those a try. I left of a lot of cable in that area so there's some room to play with for placement, just need to bring in a few more large rocks to blend it in.

I thought about a lamp post or something but it just doesn't blend well. I can drop a few T5442 6mm to see what it looks like at night. The goal is to blend it in to the landscape just to see what's happening closer to the street level around the front yard, I do have a few other cameras...

Looking for some camera options to install pointing left and right in the spot marked below. We originally wanted to install a fence and mount the cameras on the fence but decided not to build the fence so I have two CAT6 burial runs under the rocks. Would love to see some ideas of what people...

    Mounting LPR ideas

Hi everyone, I can't see to find a good spot for this LPR except for this spot near the sidewalk on the side of the house. I was thinking of an 8' galvanized post in this spot. I was hoping I didn't have to bury anything new and could use the existing fence but not sure how I would achieve...

    Amazon S3 for BI clips

Hi, is anyone using some sort of data backup for the BI clips? Just want a backup solution in case the home BI computer gets compromised. What are you using, what are you backing up (alerts, etc.), how long of a retention, and how much are you paying? Thanks.

Blue Iris iOS app not responding sometimes

Occasionally when I am on AT&T cellular only, I can connect to my Blue Iris app but when I click on cameras it doesn't display anything. Once I connect to WiFi then everything comes up fine, I can preview, scrub videos etc, no issues. Does anyone know if this is related to how I've setup my...

What % of CPU Blue Iris server usage becomes a concern?

How important is it to have internal drives only? I only have 1 extra slot for my 6TB purple drive but thinking of adding another 6TB for external storage. Will there be issues with connecting a usb external for additional storage?

    Dahua has a new water proof junction box PFA130-E / PFA130E for Turrets ( PFA137, PFA139 )

Does anyone know if Dahua makes a junction box that fits the T5442TM-AS without having that extra 1/4" around the edge. The 5231 circumference fits the PFA130-E junction box perfectly. Looking for something that has that cleaner look. Thanks!

Installing camera on a block wall

I think the latter - camera mounted on junction box down the block wall into the dirt, conduit coming back up the exterior stucco wall secure to wall going back into the eaves. The trenching into the dirt is only to hide the conduit so we don't trip over it. It's essentially a U run from wall...

Installing camera on a block wall

Does anyone know if I can install a camera on a block wall and use rigid piping to go under maybe 12-18" and come back up the house wall stucco through the eaves? This is the best placement for me to get the depth and lighting so that the equipment isn't blocking the view. Thoughts on if it's...

Feedback on dual camera install on an inside corner

I think I am going to use this camera inside of the house instead and use two HDW5231R-ZE to point them outwards. Wanted to get some additional feedback on the rest of the placement of the cameras I have in front of the house. I have one camera pointing to my in-laws house next door to monitor...

    POE

If I had a NVR5216-16P-4KS2E in the house where most of the cameras run to, could I add a Netgear ProSafe plus Switch with POE and connect it back to the NVR to expand additional cameras in the garage?

    Review-Dahua IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M Dual Starlight Cam

I was hoping there was something at 45 degree angle because if I mounted using the junction box, I wouldn't get as much coverage from the wall I am mounting on. I saw some corner brackets for this, but this would be the opposite of that corner mount.

Feedback on dual camera install on an inside corner

Hi, I wanted to get some feedback on if this is an an ideal location for this camera. Camera is an IPC-HDBW4231F-E2-M Dual Starlight Cam. I didn't want to put two cameras pointing inwards, but this angle covers the laundry door and sliding patio door. Also, thoughts on the landscape vs...
