    OpenVPN home IP address

Interesting. No-Ip, a 26 year old company offerings include a free DNS host service. I like it.

    OpenVPN home IP address

I was using DynDNS since 2011 but the price just got too high ($55). It started as $15 and does not provide a lot of other features for email addresses and email provider integration. After a lot of research, I just moved to NameCheap ($12) and set up all these features.

    OpenVPN home IP address

I am trying to understand. (I may not use the correct words here, but I will try) Are you referring to the feature in Routers that allow us to set up a DDNS service? I am currently paying NameCheap for a DNS hostname address. In my Router I set up DDNS to keep track of the changing ISP...

    OpenVPN home IP address

Do most OpenVPN users have a DNS Host to access their home network or do they use the current actual external IP address? It appears that the ISP can change our external IP address without our knowledge.

    Trouble accessing BlueIris using OpenVPN

SOLVED! Thank you for all your patience and help on this. It was crazy frustrating! Did all three, now it works. 1. removed Port forwarding on Router - rebooted 2. rebooted BI server (PC) 3. Deleted, reinstalled and reconfigured iPhone BI app.

    Trouble accessing BlueIris using OpenVPN

(I apologize for ignorance and appreciate your help on this). Ok, I have OpenVPN connected on the iPhone. I go to BlueIris and have put the LAN address as the BlueIris PC's address with the Port of :80 then trying Port of :81 Neither are working. 192.168.1.162:80 or 192.168.1.162:81...

    Trouble accessing BlueIris using OpenVPN

Port discussion: The OpenVPN Server has a port number in the configuration and looking at the OpenVPN client, it shows the same port number. If I try to add that to the iPhone BlueIris application, as in: 192.168.1.xxx(port), it does not work BUT if I add my existing open "port forward" port...

    Trouble accessing BlueIris using OpenVPN

It does work! (learn something new every day! UI3) Since this works, does that mean I should be putting the IP Address (192.168.1.xxx:80) the open port number? I thought I was trying to close the port forwarding I am currently using... and replacing with OpenVPN.

    Trouble accessing BlueIris using OpenVPN

Been using an open port to access the BlueIris application from my iPhone App and am trying to migrate to using OpenVPN. I now have OpenVPN working but am not able to get the BlueIris application to log in using the local IP address of the BlueIris PC. I have added the address: 192.168.1.xxx...

    NetTime - not updating cameras?

How interesting. Thank you. Now off to configure those cameras DST settings. Thanks as always!

    NetTime - not updating cameras?

Interesting. I thought that the cameras would check NetTime running on the BI machine and adjust their time accordingly. NetTime is showing the new time. Is this an incorrect assumption?

    NetTime - not updating cameras?

NetTime is installed and working. All cameras are synchronized from NetTime. The issue I am seeing is that even though NetTime is updated to Daylight savings time and is currently accurate, the cameras are all not displaying the new time. (note: This is Tuesday, three days after Daylight...

    Email Server - Proton

Well, I've reached the end of this one. Turns out, to get BlueIris to be able to have Proton be my email server, you have to either purchase and additional license with namecheap.com (for SMTP) or download a Proton software package onto the BlueIris PC to act as an SMTP service. Does someone...

    Email Server - Proton

Just in case anyone else is ever on this journey (getting BlueIris to use Proton as the Email Server in "Blue Iris Settings", I thought I'd share how far I have gotten but still not finalized. I learned that my over priced DNS service used only for BlueIris access from my phone app, only...

    Wiki / Subnet DNS question

Thank you for this! I was following the guidance on setting up a two NIC system like I have with the cameras on a separate subnet. It showed setting the cameras with that DNS server address (8.8.8.8) and it felt wrong! Again, appreciate this help!

    Securing Router

I am just about to give up on my old router (Linksys e4200 circa 2011). I've been running DD-WRT and it has been rock solid but the DD-WRT build version is also old. (or so they tell me) After spending a lot of frustrating time, I'm thinking I should first upgrade the Router to something more...

    Securing Router

I have things enabled (from the old days of needing to access a Corporate Business VPN Internationally, such as the old PPTP and Telnet). Securing Router

Thanks again for helping me wittaj! I was sure that I am currently exposed! It sounds like I may be able to make some minor modifications to my existing Router. I do have DDNS enabled using my username. The password is actually the DynDNS "Updater Client Key". This is supposed to allow for...

    Securing Router
