OK. NVR reset done. It has been two hours and cameras are ALL still showing - no red locks. I did not get the cams back in the original order, but not sure that's a big concern. [only 7 cams] Bandwidth registering at 65.72/88.00 @bigredfish @Flintstone61 @Revo2Maxx @wittaj I want to thank you...

    Amcrest NVR 4108-HS

When I originally did my cameras I just set them static through the web GUI. Some show as static, some show as manual on my router page. Not sure why. Another problem: I used to be able to view my Amcrest cams or Dahua cam on a web GUI [Internet Explorer days] . Now screen asks to download a...

If I am not doing the cams, should I unplug them? Will my camera IP's stay the same if I don't reset them?

    Amcrest NVR 4108-HS

OK So, to factory reset. I have gone through your video, thank you for making it @Revo2Maxx 1] Do I have to unplug the cams before I do the reset? 2] Will I have to upgrade to the latest FW once the reset is done or will the NVR keep the FW? 3] Will I lose all my record history from the NVR HDD...

@bigredfish My NVR and cams are separate from my router [no cable] I cannot get to the NVR Web GUI because my NVR is not connected to my router. I only have access to my NVR and cams through the NVR GUI on my monitor. Shall I hook NVR back into the router? @Revo2Maxx When I go to...

    Amcrest NVR 4108-HS

@wittaj I am guessing you mean accessing the router? When I took the NVR off the router I rebooted the router and after the reboot none of the cams were showing on the router. After rebooting the NVR, I checked the cams and all were accessible through the main menu > Camera> Image would this...

    Amcrest NVR 4108-HS

OK I will change my setup, but it will mean that I will only have room for 6 cameras, unless I hook up another switch for that last camera. I think I have another 4 port switch, but I will have to dig it up. Will do that and report back. Thank you.

the bandwidth on the NVR monitor reads 87.12/88.00 mbps. Is this the bandwidth you are asking about? The wireless cam [Lorex W881AA 4K Spotlight Outdoor Wi-Fi 6 Security Camera] is used to monitor my pond in winter. It was not supposed to show up on my NVR. They said it was not an IP camera. I...

    Amcrest NVR 4108-HS

@wittaj Again excellent insight and observations. I am putting the resolution to the lowest as I write this and am waiting to see if the cams get locked. 4 cams at 640 x480x(VGA), 3 cams at 1280 x 720 (720P) are the lowest resoultions. 4 cams at bit rate 96, 3 cams at bitrate 520. They showed...

@wittaj @bigredfish I came on here to get help with my problem and got some very good helpful information from you both, which I am taking into consideration. Thank you. I also got a different opinion as to what the problem may be. Question: Do you not think I should give their information the...

    Amcrest NVR 4108-HS

While messing about with cam settings I have done something that has changed my bandwidth from 77.25/80.00 to 78.40/88.00 mbps. ??? Also, I have no idea what it is that I have done, but now my locked cams have a message on the monitor screen that says "Over decode ability". which I am guessing...

    Amcrest NVR 4108-HS

@Flintstone61 Yes, well when I bought it I was a beginner and in most ways I still am re IP cam setup. I know how to get to settings in the NVR, but as far as configuring it - very limited in what everything means. What would be an NVR you could recommend that would handle 8 cameras? Or at least...

@bigredfish Is there a way to increase the bandwidth? More RAM possibly? How do I find out how much RAM I have on this NV4108-HS?

    Amcrest NVR 4108-HS

@bigredfish Are you saying the NVR is made by Dahua? [not disagreeing just curious] Residu bandwidth is showing 77.25/80.00 @wittaj yes I can try that @Flintstone61 re:switching from 4108 to 4116 nvr If the NV4108-HS is wireless [only one port on back of NVR] and my wireless is not strong...

    Amcrest NVR 4108-HS

@Flintstone61 I lowered all my cams to 10 FPS. Did not seem to change anything. As usual when I went back to LIVE view the cams in Question they were showing but within minutes gone behind the RED lock. What about changing other settings - Resolution, bit rate type [CBR, VBR] or Bit Rate (kb/S)...

My setup is 8 IP cameras - 1 Dahua [older model], 3 Lorex [E841CA, E892AB, W881AA], 4 Amcrest [IP3M-943]. All cameras are hard wired and have there own electrical power adapter. Not sure if this is pertinent, but my ISP is a cable fiber internet at 180 mbps. When I purchased the Amcrest cams I...
