Which settings did you do to make you more optimistic about the autotracking? Care to share? And yeah, i have also that creepy squeaking sound when it follows me. It almost sounds like it's doing it under protest ;-)

I experience the same problem. I setup IVS and IVS works. I see that IVS is triggered, but it does not show up on the playback line. I only see the green (continuous recording) line and no orange recording line. Did you find a solution for this issue yet? I have a Dahua cam and Dahua NVR.

You have to set it up as ONVIF camera in the Hik NVR and use port 80 to access it. Then it's straight forward from there.

I can confirm. I have my SD59225-HNI connected to my Hikvision NVR. But i agree with Looney that the autotracking is done by the camera, not the NVR

Yeah, that was with one of the other boxes that i'm not using right now. It mistracked too often.

No idea if that will work. You should just experiment with that. I'm mostly using 1 intrusion box, like in the screenshot. The other boxes are not very accurate, so i hardly ever use them.

I'm using 25 fps and CBR at 8192 kbps. If i set it to 30 fps the camera also acts like it's possessed sometimes. I found that 25 fps is the highest that i can get a reasonable tracking with.

It's either B/W or colour. IR doesn't work in colour mode. I bought this Starlight camera so i can keep it at full colour at all times. My area is reasonably covered with streetlights. Besides my camera is there mostly for identification purposes (skin tone, hair colour, clothing, shoes, etc)...

I have never been a fan of B/W, so i never use it. But i tried what you asked: IR with smart-IR doesn't give me a solid focus at 20-25x. When i switch to colour i get a reasonably quick focus lock.

I think it's the max time tracking a subject. I have mine set to the max 300 seconds, but it never waits that long. Mostly it gives up after maybe 20 seconds at most. I hardly ever get it to track longer than that.

Before and after the upgrade of both firmware and PTZ software. Odd how the PTZ version naming is completely different from before. I will keep you posted about my experiences.

Nope, my cam is up too high to reach it easily. I cannot hard reset it myself without special equipment to reach the cam. So for me that's not an option unfortunately. Last time I had problems with the cam I had to hire someone to fix it. Costed me 150 euro. Did a hard reset at that time, but...

I have exactly the opposite experience. I installed the new firmware and PTZ software and did the default reset, but autofocus is gone to hell. It takes forever en leaves a big blurr in autotracking mode. It is horrible now. I'm going back to the previous firmware.

If you can accept 25% misses than you can considder bying this camera. I get an overall of about 75% hits on autotracking. During the day it's perfect, but at low light conditions this is definitely not the best PTZ you can buy. But as said, if you accept that it misses about 25% of the time...

I haven't installed it yet. I am always first to try, but always experience issues with new firmware releases. So i decided to wait out some experiences from other daredevils before i try it myself this time.

Oh wow, i thought i was the only one who experienced that. Hopefully the new firmware will take care of that. I'll wait this time for others to experiment with it first before i upgrade again. It's not really clear what this new firmware and software does better or worse.
