If there was a bug that reset the camera's IP to the original default, and you have multiple cameras that all experienced the same glitch, then they will all fight over the same original IP address and have IP address conflicts thus seeming to keep "going offline and online every 10 seconds"...
Setting up a firewall rule to block INTERNET access for a machine/device will not stop traffic coming to/from other machines on the same network even if they pass through the same router because those packets are not hitting the WAN firewall at all.

Curious - Broadcasting what every 10 seconds? Sending a packet to broadcast address is quite normal and what a bunch of protocols use to discover some services etc. if it's a small packet I'd be shocked if that was the cause. If you were flooding the network with a shitload of packets at high...
Cant use it because my house doesn't show up on it as it was build last year. Just shows a dirt mound from 2013. lol. I need some satellites to fly over.

FWIW I am running BI on windows 2012 server VM in ESXI 6 with no issues. I doubt the issue is VM related. Not being able to get to their web configuration pages has nothing to do with your esxi host if your opening them from a laptop or pc on the same network as your cams, especially if they...
Webrtc is in canary, chrome, opera, nightly, Firefox, bowser, and edge. And yes, webrtc does have support for H264 as of April last year. I think it's easy to use but then again I'm a software engineer.

Greens are shit for raid arrays due to no TLER support as well as high rate of parked heads. Easy way to lose all your files when the raid controller keeps booting it out as failed. If you're recording locally to SSD and just periodically backing up to a green or mirrored greens you're probably...
Not so. Webrtc real time streaming is excellent. Been working with this technology for years. No plugins required on browsers anymore.

I picked up the 5231 bullet z5. The 7mm lens Is not good if you have it mounted on your house and are trying to get close coverage of windows doors property etc because the floor field of view is too zoomed/narrow. It's only good if you're trying to get some outward distance 50-100ft or so. I...
Just my 2c, I have an iPhone 7plus that runs OpenVPN to my pfsense VM that hosts an OpenVPN server. I've never noticed any additional drain on the battery caused from the VPN. Granted I don't keep Blueiris app running in the background. I only check it when I get a notification push. And...
The connectors give it away. I think it's an old school video capture card with dual IDE channels.
I've never seen a combination like this so I'm assuming it's some very very old all-in-one solution for DVR or video surveillance capture direct to disk.

where can i get firmware to update these? mine came with 3.2.1.413002 and I think it's PAL version, as the framerate maxes out at 50. Can I flash to the latest NTSC version and if so where can I get the firmware to upgrade?
edit: found sticky Firmware for newer dahua cams as well as detailed...
Which Xeon's were those? The supported non-Xeon integrated intel gpu cpus ones only help with encoding/decoding but I'd think and "decent" Xeon should be able to handle a lot of direct-to-disk. (I'm running dual XEON E5-2683 V3 and my BI vm CPU usage is practically negligible for 10 cams lol)...
I have a bunch of hikvision cubes inside my house at all entrances and choke points. Plus motion sensors. Peace of mind in case someone manages to get creative and slip past the exterior cams.

I did some reading online about it and found similar info, that if you've expressed legit safety's concerns and ask if they are going to guarantee safety and they still deny you the right to protect your property, then if you get hit they could be liable and most HOAs do not want to be on the...
yea i already read them. they are so generic, and can be interpreted in many ways.
while exterior security cams are not explicitly banned, the troublesome areas of the bylaws that COULD be used against you if a neighbor want's to be a d*ck are these:
1 - some generic wording 'no building wall...
i'm pretty sure that would also stand out. all my soffits are white. i have a covered wrap around front porch, but not sure if i would want to mount it there.
i want one of these so bad but I have neighbors who would complain to my HOA about it not fitting "architectural guidelines of the community". I think I can conceal the varifocal turrets good enough with paint matching my siding to the point where it looks like paint matched dryer outlet, but...
