These arrived during the week so around 4 weeks shipping time from China to Europe. Not bad considering the impact of the virus.

I contacted the China Top Security vendor and they stated it's English/international from the Dahua factory and upgradable firmware. Curiosity is killing me :D so ordered one to take a look. I didn't see a comparable model on Andy's Aliexpress shop or would have ordered it there.

Agreed but as it's the front of the house, I need turrets. I had the 2231 set to max zoom on IPVM calculator. To an extent the extra pixels on the 5442 6mm make up for the loss of zoom but the 2231 VF still wins. I think I'll get a couple of 2231 VF's.

Agreed. I think the 6mm might just about be enough.

Has anyone compared this to the fixed focal length IPC-HDW2231TM-AS-S2 (fixed version of this I think Review-OEM IPC-T2231T-ZS 2mp Varifocal Starlight Camera) Seems the same camera but in 2mp rather then 4mp. Gives comparable night vision to the 5231 series of Starlights (0.002 lux @ F1.6)

Anyone know is there an API command to switch on/off the LED's (can you do it with IR enabled Dahua cams)? Might be an option to detect motion on BI and execute a script that switches on the LEDs?

Is this essentially the same as the 2231 but with AI? Night picture should be identical?

Is there no square junction box for the 5442 bullet? The PFA130-e will look really bag with the square base if it even fits and I doubt it would be waterproof. If you can't get a square junction book that's an exact match for the bullet camera, I'd go into your nearest electrical wholesaler and...

Just took delivery of a 5442 and this came pre-installed. Good to see. :)

You'll need to ask Andy what base for that camera or dig up the Dahua accessories brochure online.

Does the B5442 bullet have a square or round base? If it has a square base I don't think that universal one will fit.

Tape them up and into the soffit also. Or into the junction box if you get it.

I paid just over £9 each for a couple of Dahua PFA130-e boxes from Aliexpress. Took 19 days including weekends. Also ordered one from Andy at a slightly higher price but not here yet.

You have somewhere easy to hide the wires.
