Yea I do expect compromise. Maybe I will mount an IR illuminator. I am very aware of how bad domes reflect IR. It'll help keep spiders away so I will have to clam up and run another wire.

Thank you. Noticed in the review that other IR illumination was used for night captures. I was kind of hoping to have IR built in. I admit I am being lazy. I really don't want to have to mount other devices and run more cabling to power illuminators. Maybe asking for too much.

my newer Dahuas work fine, my 5231s (4) that are roughly 5 years old are the ones that are bastards. Maybe a FW update will resolve the issue. I shut off the automatic update checking cause this has caused so many problems.
