New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I am not sure how they do it, but yeah they are saying that you can use just 2 wires and send both power and data over them. Datasheet Looking at their diagram, you don't even need the transformer anymore. It suggests to me that you can have a POE video doorbell even if all you had was the...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

FWIW, I wrote to Reolink support to suggest / request a change in their app. Currently the only account level that can use 2-way talk with the doorbell is an admin. Normal user account can view, but is restricted from 2-way talk with a person at the door. This somewhat circumvents the purpose...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I re-installed my doorbell last weekend. As you may recall, my previous install used an electrical box that I modified, and a lot of concrete sealant... and I did not use the included wedge. It looked decent, but the thing that bothered me about it was that because the camera was straight on...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

got the printed plates yesterday. They look pretty decent, and will work perfectly for mounting the wedge on top of one of these plates. Hoping to redo the install this weekend, but I have a feeling I wont have time.

I've ordered a few 3D prints from the STL files. Picking them up today. My intention is to use the printed mount plate in addition to the 15 degree wedge that was in the box. I might have to sand the flat visible surfaces of the mount plate.. not sure yet, but will find out soon enough.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

huh... I figured it out.. but I don't know why it made a difference because it was never enabled before. I turned on all the network ports, and the web interface came on. Then I turned them all off (except for https) and then the web service was again, unavailable. I found by turning them...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Everything was fine before the firmware update. Anyhow, I have tried enough. I re-did the firmware and reset the config (which is what I assume is just a factory reset). I got all my settings reconfigured... wish there was a config backup/restore The web interface got cooked by this FW...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Downgraded to 1859. I think that was what I had before... still no web interface. So I am upgrading again to the latest version, but also resetting config... will see if that does anything. Otherwise, I think there is a flaw in my hardware. I already submitted a ticket to Reolink

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I thought about doing that (noting the version)... lol Basically it was upgraded from the version it was shipped with. I received my doorbell in April... so I would assume it was pretty recent?

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I did try putting http back on also. No joy. Turned both http and https on and off... right now its just https. Only 1 subnet here. I have tried a few things to get it going again, but no luck so far. If I try re-installing the FW update it says its the same version and cannot be installed...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Rebooted the DB several times. Refreshed my browser. Tried a browser on a different computer. Nothing. The IP is DHCP, but is a reserved IP assigned to the DB by my router (so essentially static). Unplugged the NIC, and replugged... Its like there is no more web server on the DB now. But...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I'm upgrading my POE DB right now... will check out the new features when done. edit: I am using the web interface to do the FW upgrade... It is still running (its been about 15 minutes). Not sure if I should close the browser, or wait.. It says to not power off the device until the upgrade...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Just looked at Reolink downloads today. There is a new firmware posted (at least for the POE version) on their site (v3.0.0.2033_23041302). This is their notes on the firmware:

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Not wanting to stray from the point of this thread... but knowing what the network will support will be helpful in settings to get the most out of your install, and setting expectations as to what you should see from your install...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Well yes, and no... Wifi 5 is capable of supporting AC, provided that the hardware supports it, which is not so in this case (from what I can see) Wifi 6 is capable of supporting AX, providing that the hardware connecting also supports AX (and I think I mistakenly described the whole hub vs...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

That's odd. I have looked under the Wifi specs and I agree it says 2.4/5 GHz for operating frequency... but I see no mention of AC anywhere... Just this Wireless Standard IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n Is there a US version of this doorbell that supports AC?

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

One thing to keep in mind is the specs on the Reolink wifi DB is that it only supports 802.11a/b/g/n. So even if you have a nice powerful Wifi Router or access point, these 802.11 specs only allow a single device to use the wifi at a time. For those networky folks, its like comparing a hub to...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Do you know if the included wedge mount could be used in addition to one of those printed mounts? (Printables) thinking of : either "Reolink Doorbell Straight Wedge With Integrated Cover" or "Reolink Doorbell Straight Wedge With Integrated Oval Cover" directly against my wall (so that the...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Hmmm yep that would have been a time saver for sure. And I took the doorbell off and held it against the included wedge. I definitely want to put that piece in my install now that I have seen the view it produces. I have seen 3D prints before and the plastic is rather rough surfaced. At...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

A few things I have noticed so far about the doorbell (actually the apps)... You can setup 2 types of accounts : administrators and users. The described difference is that admins can config and change settings.. add users, etc. So a 'user' should be able to do everything else. But I have...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

A flat mounting bracket would have been a great thing... but there was only the metal mount plate, the wedge, and the doorbell in my box. Just went through the box again. There was never a flat mounting bracket in mine. That would have save me a lot of time.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Yes, I had spare original bricks, so that part was easy for the mason. The Jbox works, but needed a lot of modification. On the right side of the pic, I cut a small slot in the back and then used a long corner brace as a sort of "grip" to pinch the brick on the other side. It does not make...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I finally got my doorbell installed over the weekend. It was not a straightforward job, although it could have been much easier if I had gone the 3D Printer template route. Any idea how much it would cost to have one of those templates printed? My old doorbell was pretty large and...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Did you check your NTP settings? Upon my 1st setup, it asked me if I wanted to sync time with my phone, which I did. Later, when I went into the management console (web or desktop app), I checked NTP settings and noticed that it was not set to automatically sync with internet NTP servers...

@David L Can you post your config suggestions for the settings in Alarm Settings (thinking motion detection, smart detection). I'm trying to set mine up so that not every squirrel or car driving by triggers an event. I haven't tune the "object size" or "detection zone" settings yet though.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I just received my ReoLink PoE doorbell the other day. I also have a Lorex system (N882 line, which was bought at the time they supported ONVIF). I can confirm that you can power the doorbell from the Lorex NVR - but there are some significant limitations because of the way Lorex does their...
