Dahua WizSense IPC-HFW2441T-ZS ignoring credentials for RTSP

I figured it out! There is a setting in "Setting -> Network -> Access Platform -> ONVIF" called Authentication, that was set to "Off". That apparently allowed the RTSP stream to be opened without providing any username & password. After I turned that to "On", VLC opened the "RTSP...

Dahua WizSense IPC-HFW2441T-ZS ignoring credentials for RTSP

Just as a side note, I was trying out these RTSP links with my other Dahua models and it's really interesting that some of them will ask for a user & pass with a RTSP authentication pop-up window in VLC, if I don't provide that inside the URL itself, but for others, VLC will not show any RTSP...

Dahua WizSense IPC-HFW2441T-ZS ignoring credentials for RTSP

There was a newer firmware out, I just noticed, but it did not solve the problem. Its "ReadMe" also didn't mention anything about this being fixed. Some other things were. I do indeed need to get into the habit of doing factory resets after firmware upgrades though, I admit. I opened a support...

Dahua WizSense IPC-HFW2441T-ZS ignoring credentials for RTSP

I guess it differs between different csmera models, too? I tried opening a RTSP link to another Dahua bullet camera and that one did pop-up (or VLC did) a window for user & pass. I typed those in and the stream opened. I then clicked the STOP button in VLC and then PLAY again, and the...

Dahua WizSense IPC-HFW2441T-ZS ignoring credentials for RTSP

Tried that, same thing. Opens the RTSP stream right away, without any credentials provided, or with any credentials provided.

Dahua WizSense IPC-HFW2441T-ZS ignoring credentials for RTSP

So I have a couple of these Dahua WizSense IPC-HFW2441T-ZS bullet cameras and have user accounts set up in them. I use their RTSP streaming feature by connecting to them via VLC using the link in the format of "rtsp:/username:password@camera.ip:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0" and it...

When does the camera change FPS?

Hi all. I got a Dahua SD2A500NB-GNY-A-PV and I noticed that the video clips recorded onto the SDHC card have different FPS, either 25 or 12. The ones recorded at daytime tend to be 25 fps and the ones recorded at night tend to be 12 fps. I thought the switch must be when the camera goes from...

Dahua SD2A500HB-GN-A-PV-S2 users cannot access substream

Here's an 8 minute video I just made demonstrating the issues. You can try to emulate that and see if you have the same on your SD2 series camera. Note that the previous camera that I started the original post in this thread with (which I already returned) also had the CGI substream permissions...

Dahua SD2A500HB-GN-A-PV-S2 users cannot access substream

I am using Maxthon with Retro mode. I didn't mention that because there's a chance you don't know it and can't comment on it, and because it doesn't matter. I also used IE. It does not matter. It is not a browser related issue. SD2A500-GN-A-PV seems to be a predecessor to the one I got (which...

Dahua SD2A500HB-GN-A-PV-S2 users cannot access substream

wittaj, yes, I use the IE mode with the plugin in my browser. That's not important though cause the issue lies in the camera's firmware itself so it doesn't matter if I access its web interface via IE or a modern browser without the plugin. Settings will look and work the same. paul@austins.tv...

Dahua SD2A500HB-GN-A-PV-S2 users cannot access substream

It's not a user error in this case. It's a pretty straight forward case. The firmware is buggy and camera's illuminator / Day & Night switch won't work correctly. I have three other Dahua cameras with no issues. But this SD2 series (at least the two models I have tested now) seem to have this...

Dahua SD2A500HB-GN-A-PV-S2 users cannot access substream

I returned that camera and got another very similar model SD2A500NB-GNY-A-PV. This one is listed on Dahua's website as a "WizSense" model (the "SD2A500HB-GN-A-PV-S2" model was listed under the "Lite" series). The cameras are identical from the outside with only a few different features. This new...

Dahua SD2A500HB-GN-A-PV-S2 users cannot access substream

I have since discovered that this camera has other issues as well. It does not automatically switch illuminator modes based on Day/Night cycles. This is an obvious major firmware bug in these models. This camera really turned out to be pretty much unusable. :(

Dahua SD2A500HB-GN-A-PV-S2 users cannot access substream

I have seveal different Dahua cameras in my home and I just bought the SD2A500HB-GN-A-PV-S2 model to set it up. I'm accessing substreams on all my cameras but when setting up this new one I noticed that I keep getting this error in the browser: Error...

Firmware for newer dahua cams as well as detailed specs available here

I just tried to download the firmware for Dahua IPC-HFW2441T-ZS and got the "Not Found / The requested URL was not found on this server.". I then tried some other cameras and it was the same for them, too. I'm not sure how long this has been broken like this for, but here's what I found out...

Encode mode for sub-stream constantly changes to MJPEG

Dahua IPC-HFW1435S-W-S2 -- 2.680.0000000.28.R, Build Date: 2021-09-11 Via the camera web interface, I set the Sub Stream Encode Mode to H-264. I'm guessing a web browser will be unable to open this by itself using a http:// request so I opened it in VLC via the rtsp:/ request which worked...

Where to buy Dahua in Europe?

I spent the last couple of days browsing Dahua cameras and discovering different specs that they have, and finally settled on what I want. But the problem is that I can't find a proper place or distributor for Dahua that has the cameras I want. Dahua offers 2.8 mm and 3.6 mm focal length models...

Can I delete recorded clips from the SD card inside the camera?

I have motion triggered clips recorded to my Dahua IPC-HFW1435S-W-S2 bullet camera and I have recently gone into Settings->General->Date&Time and somehow the time jumped a few hours ahead due to the timezone setting. For example, the real time was 7:00 and the camera jumped to 13:00 and recorded...

    Camera doesn't record after auto-reboot

I turned on the "Auto Reboot" option in my camera settings yesterday, thinking it might be a good idea to let the camera reboot once a week to prevent unnoticed camera hang-ups. However, I noticed that when the camera comes back up after the reboot, it does not automatically continue recording...

How to configure post-event recording duration?

I figured it out. It was the Anti-Dither setting above! It was set to "30" which matched the "excessive" amount of trailing footage in my clips. I set it to 0 and now the recording stops 10 seconds after the event expires.

How to configure post-event recording duration?

Ok, looks like this is a bug then. My camera has the older interface and Record Delay is set to 10 (which is the minimum). In reality it records for 40 seconds after the event. If I set it to 20 in the textfield, then it will record 50 seconds after the event. So it seems it adds "30" to...

How to configure post-event recording duration?

Hello all. I switched from Reolink to Dahua recenctly and I'm going through the configuration options that Dahua has. Some terminology is a little different which is sometimes confusing, but the current issue I am trying to solve is the post-event recording duration. I want my camera to only...
