Got it, definitely did help. But if you have 2 spare ports after connecting your 6 cameras, why would you need a POE switch to save the 2 ports for additional cameras when your nvr has 8 ports and you are only connecting 6 cameras? Can't you use those two spare ports on the nvr for another 2...

What's a POE switch and when would you need one? I'm just starting to think about setting up a system around the home
