Random signal loss from one camera and relationship with SADP

Thanks for your reply. As it was a different camera with the same problem in my previous installation of BI I thought it might be a software conflict so I checked my router for the list of attached devices and there was a conflict of ip address with an Amazon device on the network. I assigned a...

I've just built a new PC for BI, the old one had become unstable. Yesterday I did a clean installation of BI, all is going well and I'll sort out recording to 2 hdd's later. There is one problem that I had on the old PC that persists. I have 1 camera that randomly loses signal, it's not the same...

I am entering the same credentials with the BI app as I do with accessing the UI3 but I'm getting an error message showing no user/password recognised.

New user: OpenVPN set up correctly but unable to access BI remotely

Thanks for your reply. I think I've been making a basic error in selecting which ip address to log in with. I've been attempting to use the "Remote, external (WAN/Internet) access address" and being unsuccessful so I have done the following: I have turned off wifi on my phone so I'm only using...

Advice re: hard drive management please.

This is what I've configured: Alerts and database on the C: drive which is solely for OS and BI. The 2 other drives are 3TB Purple drives, "D" and "E". Cameras 1,2 and 3 "New" record to drive D:\Blueiris\New which is set to size limit of 2750GB and then delete. Cameras 4 and 5 "New" record to...

Advice re: hard drive management please.

Thank you very much for taking the trouble to post those screenshots, very helpful. What I've done is to follow BlueIris advice and leave "Database" and "New" in C:\BlueIris which a 250Gb SSD. "New" is set to a 50GB limit with "Limit clip age" unchecked. It will then "Move to folder" which is...

Advice re: hard drive management please.

Just an update: I've re-installed Windows and installed Blue Iris and now it's all working fine, no problem with clips any more and cpu usage is fine recording direct to disk. Following advice on video I've put "alerts" and "db" in BI on the ssd along with the OS and I've configured a storage...

Advice re: hard drive management please.

Thanks, when I assign the clips panel to alerts I can see all the images but when I click on them I get "file not found". I'll have a go at that.

Advice re: hard drive management please.

I've just "defected" to BlueIris from Hikvision NVR and their software by building a dedicated Win10 machine as advised on here, and I'm very happy to have done so. I've even managed to do port forwarding and remote viewing is available to me but I'm not too happy with the android app I'm...

    IP camera network connection problems

I have 5 IP cameras connected to my LAN via 2 POE switches and recording is done on a 7608 NVR. 2 weeks ago we had something of a storm and 1 camera stopped working. I disconnected it, gave the RJ45 connection a clean with electronic solvent cleaner and it connects OK directly to the NVR which...

    Blue Iris and NVR questions

Thank you both for your answers. I've got the BI running quite well on the Win7 pc, the cpu load as I'm looking at it now is 25%. I quite like the idea of keeping a dedicated machine for cctv purposes although I'm having signal problems from some cameras. Looks as though the NVR is going up for...

    cameras losing signal

Thanks for the reply Mike. I'm getting the grey overlay. I'll have a go at reducing fps and maybe reducing some other settings such as disabling some cameras. SADP tool has a bandwidth calculator but excludes 4mm cameras! Is there a tool that shows me the bandwidth available in my network?

    cameras losing signal

Just starting out on this cctv venture. My BI is on a Win7 pc, on live view the cameras appear to be losing signal randomly. When I log into them on my Mac browser I can see them working away quite well, no loss of signal at all. Any ideas?

    Blue Iris and NVR questions

I've put together a Hikvision system of 5 IP cameras and a Hikvision NVR with 2x3TB WD Purple drives. The network is all set up using POE switches in 2 locations and the Hikvision software sees all cameras. I then came across Blue Iris and after reading reviews I bought a licence. I am using a...
