New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

You can safely provide the AC voltage listed to the two screw terminals on the back-- it's a huge range because the transformers that power your traditional doorbells vary wildly in quality and output. The 48V DC likely refers to the PoE standard 802.1af, which is provided over the RJ45 connector.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Honestly, just connect it to the internet and use the smartphone app for setup. Then you can move it over to your restricted VLAN to keep it from phoning home. The initial call will give China some details, sure, but are you a valuable target for them? The phone app has minimal permissions...

Good deal Annke 180 degree dual 1/1.8 for $220?

Can you spot it? It's smaller than my (non-functional) motion light

Good deal Annke 180 degree dual 1/1.8 for $220?

Bummer! I don't see any other deals going on. If you haven't, create an account on SlickDeals.net and set up a deal alert for 'annke'. It will email you immediately when a new deal pops up. Not sure how many of the deals will apply to the UK but it's worth a shot.

Good deal Annke 180 degree dual 1/1.8 for $220?

I like it, but I'm really only using the RTSP stream putting it into BI. BI is doing all the motion detection and notifications. I plug it into PoE and it works, EZ-PZ. There are some white LEDs on it, but unfortunately they are on or off. I was hoping to turn it into a motion light but...

Good deal Annke 180 degree dual 1/1.8 for $220?

Oops, no, got it backwards. That code only works on the bullet cam.

Good deal Annke 180 degree dual 1/1.8 for $220?

That's my only complaint-- the form factor. it's fine for a commercial building, but a little bit large for a residence. I'll try to take a pic of how I have mine mounted later. I don't notice it anymore and you can't really see it from the road unless you know what to look for. But it's...

Can Cat5 be run between telephone poles??

Yeah that's a great deal. I was expecting copper clad aluminum but it says pure solid copper core. Are you trying to put the cam on the pole, or just somewhere on the other side of the road? Curious about the distances, it's easy to hit max length when running between structures.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Alright, yeah, instructions can be important maybe. It says in the first section, if you don't follow the instructions to bypass the chime: And they included a little jumper for bridging the chime terminals. So that's probably it. It's bypassed now, hopefully that'll fix the buzz. If not...

Can Cat5 be run between telephone poles??

Good luck! For about the cost of a 500ft box of outdoor cat5, you could get some Ubiquiti point-to-point radios. We use those at work on a college campus where we can't run fiber to the building. They are rock solid with plenty of throughput and reliability.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

100% agreed on PoE, I just didn't want the hassle of running CAT cable through the door frame at the edge of a hip roof. My AP is only about 15ft away so I get good signal. I saw that my wifi cam can be powered PoE, although I haven't tested that yet-- are these the same cam, only one has a...

Good deal Annke 180 degree dual 1/1.8 for $220?

I hope that this post will save someone some time in the future! While running the wires I messed up and had to snip the PoE connector off. For max usable length I did so flush with the moulding... only to learn, unfortunately: Annke did not use a standard color code on their RJ45 ethernet...

Good deal Annke 180 degree dual 1/1.8 for $220?

I got two of them directly from Annke for $180 about 6 months ago. Put up one immediately and set up Blue Iris for the first time. I'm happy with the quality and features. I tried messing around with the other one's firmware, trying to load Hikvision for more fine grained LED control, and...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I don't think I've taken the case off the wall before. Although I seem to recall from measuring when I installed a ring a few years back that it was putting out 24VAC. Didn't check amps but it was enough for that cam to stay charged.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

The chime that came with the house 15 years ago!! Probably the cheapest one they could find. I have no such option on my Maintenance page. Skips from firmware update to auto reboot.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Put my wifi cam in this morning. So far so good, love that it did not require me to make an account to use the thing! Got it added to BI no problem. It makes my AC power adapter/chime combo unit buzz, though. Going to try to figure that one out tomorrow, probably need a resistor somewhere?
