I read the OP that pre existing wiring was in place. It maybe that the wire was pre existing but not terminated in which case I agree with B. But again as long as one standard is used throughout the house it doesn't matter

Disagree with the comments saying use type B. IMO, you should see what is already installed in your house and stick with that standard, wether A or B. The last thing you want is a mix of wiring standards in your house

I would not be happy with that at all! I have just orderd the 7716 and hope that doesnt happen to me. If it does i will be spitting chips. Hope your 7616 works out

I ended up going with something different all together :) Went with the higher end DS-7716N-E4/16P 16 POE ports so lots of extra upgrades if needed and 2 extra drive bays. Currently in shipping so will have to wait and see what it is like

Can you point me in the direction of what this computer actually looks liek? ebay link or something. I am assuming it is some kind of server rather than desktop? For my situation, i would ideally like a rack mountable computer as i have a 12U rack that just has a few switches etc for data...

Looks pretty good. But like everything with a full warranty, twice the price as the ebay version. I guess thats the price you pay for going local. I still don't know which way i'll go for my setup.
