This seems like a good idea. Could likely match the fence pretty closely. Not sure I understand exactly what you're suggesting. The horizontal boards aren't flush with the post, so it would make installing at their junction a bit awkward.

I have an Amcrest with the same tab. It does not require a twist, but rather you pull parallel to the tab (eg, if installed on a wall, you push the camera up if the tab is facing up).
