    Conduit guidance needed please

Ahhh ok so pretty much just how I envisioned it, nice to know I wasn’t far off. Running that extra pvc conduit inside the attic seems like a very good idea as well, I was dreading having to crawl into the narrow part of my attic. Appreciate the pictures! Thank you. edit: how are those LBs...

    Conduit guidance needed please

Would I just use one of these through the vent cover, with pvc down to the junction box? Or is there a cleaner way of doing it?

Step one complete, on to step two

Ok haven’t had much free time lately but I’ve managed to get my firewall rules set up, my blue iris and deep stack set up reasonably well, I’m testing a few locations as well. I have run into a snag accessing blue iris remotely. I think. I have set up my vpn correctly. All the videos and...

Step one complete, on to step two

Ok awesome… so lemme see if I understand this correctly…. I’ll create a vlan for cameras, then set up firewall rules for them, this will make sure they can’t phone out to anywhere they aren’t supposed to. Then I also need to set up a vpn so I can access with my iPhones.
  15. J

Step one complete, on to step two

No it’s a managed switch, and I’m pretty sure it has vlan, this is just going to be my first time messing with vlan, and my current understanding of them is very limited

Step one complete, on to step two

Oh hell, I hope you are mistaken… piss poor planning on my side… I got that 24 port switch with the assumption that I could just configure the necessary ports appropriately.
  17. J

Step one complete, on to step two

I read a bit on the dual nic set up, i might be mistaken, but I gathered that a dedicated poe switch would be used strictly for the cameras. Didn’t plan for this, not interested in buying a dedicated switch. I’ll see if I can study up on vlans

Dipping my toes in the water…

Haven’t touched a big manufacturer pc in quite sometime, is a tower like that similar to the sff pcs? What I mean is, is it all proprietary and won’t fit inside a regular tower?

Dipping my toes in the water…

thank you for this info! Given my luck track record, I’ll likely avoid testing my mileage. If it weren’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all.
