Using a camera to monitor temperature.
How about leaving the camera on and putting a light on that apparatus (pretty cool idea) so that you see that the light is on when it is cold. The light going on or off should trigger an event in blue iris. I have a few of those thermocubes which do the same thing so I might be doing the same...
