    IPC-Color4K-T and IPC-Color4K-T180 230227 Firmware

The color cast correction analyzes the artificial lighting in the scene and removes color casts (blue/yellow) to render a more natural white balance. Under the street lamp on my street, it corrected the lighting to make it appear more pleasant to the eye.

    IPC-Color4K-T and IPC-Color4K-T180 230227 Firmware

That is probably wise, but since I have multiple T180 cameras, I don't mind testing the firmware on one camera to see if it makes an improvement. I don't recall if this was included in the previous firmware, but the color cast correction on this firmware works very well at night.

    IPC-Color4K-T and IPC-Color4K-T180 230227 Firmware

I noticed that Dahua has a firmware update (2026-05-08) for this camera IPC-Color4K-T180 (IPC-PDW5849-A180-E2-ASTE) on their site. I installed it on one of my two T180's, and it seems to be working well. Possibly IVS detection from the sides is better with this update. (fingers crossed) Here is...

    PTZ5A4M ?

Not sure what is causing it, but the first thing I would try is a factory reset of the camera.

    Quick comparison video of Color4K-X Series 1 & 2

The firmware that came installed on the camera was 2/6/24 (rev. 12), and I just now updated to the 1/14/26 (rev. 62). Note that this uses the newer interface, so series 1 and 2 use different firmware.

    Quick comparison video of Color4K-X Series 1 & 2

Here is a quick comparison of series 1 & 2 of the 6mm Color4K-X cameras. I only made a video at night, since the cameras are identical during the daytime and provide an excellent image. One thing I noted today though is that the series 2 focus point is about 2 1/2 feet further than the series 1...

    Firmware for IPC-T54IR-ZE question

I had been using the 3.142.15OG003.0.R.241221 firmware on all my IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3 cameras, but updated them to 3.142.0000000.8.R.250826. No problems at all, but it should be noted that I did a factory reset of all the cameras first, before initiating the update. I keep a 128GB USB drive with all...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

While browsing my NVR today, found a clip that was saved on my NVR with the same cat, same time, 13 days apart. On the left is the B54IR-Z4E-S3, and on the right is the B54PRO-Z4E. This clip definitely shows how much better the S3 is in dim lighting conditions. I'm going to swap cameras again...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

    The night settings I have found to work best for this particular setting: Brightness = 50, Contrast = 56, Saturation = 50, Sharpness = 19, Gamma = 50 Shutter 0-6ms, Gain 0-50, Iris = 100, Exposure Compensation = 50, 3D NR = 39, 2D NR = 34 For daytime, most settings are similar except: Shutter...

I didn't blur the plate out. He has painted some stuff over the letters of the plate to distort it, so it can't be read at night. Here is an extended clip...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

No one has walked down the driveway at night since swapping cameras, but this guy drove down the driveway tonight and also a few nights ago, when the B54IR-Z4E-S3 was set up; so it shows the comparison. Unlike last night when AI-ISP and AI-SSA were "off", I decided to switch on AI-ISP. Didn't...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Yes, seems to be the same. Looks like they spent a lot of time on the AI functions, so for the heck of it I decided to turn on the AI-ISP and AI-SSA and see what that does. Right off the bat, the daytime image appears to be washed out with a lack of contrast. I assume the nighttime settings will...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

After updating the firmware of the B54PRO-Z4E with the April 1, 2026 release, I noticed two things immediately: the smart illumination function now works much better than it had previously, and the light sensitivity seems to have been optimized since the previous firmware. Here are two clips. In...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

That's with the B54IR-Z4E-S3. I just now finished swapping the B54IR-Z4E-S3 out with the B54PRO-Z4E. Here are a couple screen shots. The first is the B54IR-Z4E-S3, and the second is the B54PRO-Z4E. Daytime pics and videos from the B54PRO-Z4E are so much nicer. I hope, as I view the images...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I sure hope so. It will be interesting to see if it knows the difference between deer and cats. This is from a couple nights ago on my driveway.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Wow, it took forever to upload the BIN files (913.1mb) to my two cameras. Now to get the ladder out and swap cameras again to test this out.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Yes, it is slower. I think the added sensor noise is a contributing factor in its detection, or lack of. For me the decreased IR range, when compared to the S3, is what made me switch back to the S3's.

I think you will have to put that in as a special order.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

In the release notes for the firmware it says: optimized features = none, fixed bugs = none; but it does support triggering alarms for cats, dogs, cattle, sheep, horses, bears, deer, birds, monkeys, elephants, lions, and tigers. Ok

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-PFW5849-A180-E2 - Dual Lens 180 Degree Full Color 4K (8MP Stitched) Camera

That explanation makes perfect sense. I wonder why other cameras that also have speakers, like the Color4M-T have the rotation option in their software, when they would also have the problem with the speaker facing upward and collecting water. Probably laziness when they were writing the...

How often do you move cameras?

Beautiful house and lighting. Looks like you picked the perfect spots for the cameras. Bugs shouldn't be too bad either, since the lighting is external. Now since the cameras are installed, you can rest and enjoy that pizza.

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-PFW5849-A180-E2 - Dual Lens 180 Degree Full Color 4K (8MP Stitched) Camera

Wow, that has me stumped. I looked at my other cameras, and there is a flip command in the GUI under camera settings. I'm not seeing the same command on either of my 180 cameras. Since I didn't see the image rotation screen under the GUI, I checked my NVR, and it again is missing for the 180...

PTZ5A4M 25X PTZ Delay when commanding.

Interesting... I put a stopwatch on it to see the response time of the PTZ5A4M-25x. Using the camera GUI, it took 1.26 seconds to respond, but in SmartPSSLite it took only 0.74 seconds, so you are correct.

PTZ5A4M 25X PTZ Delay when commanding.

I have a PTZ5A4M-25x and 49225, but I use a NVR with POE. Yes, the PTZ5 is much slower to respond. I don’t have an answer as to why it lags, but I assume it is normal behavior.

Need help figuring out what IP camera brand to go with.

These are all great suggestions those above have made. One additional suggestion, if I may… When you are planning your camera setup, model it in the way you would setup a sprinkler system for the grass around your home. Coverage of the sprinklers should overlap. The same with IP cameras. Also, a...

How often do you move cameras?

I am constantly swapping out cams (or adding more). It is less of a science (getting the best quality image) as it is a game (to see if I can improve it). Always fun to capture something amazing: wildlife, police arresting someone, an unexpected wild storm, etc.
