Tun on LEDs based on motion

In case anyone comes across this thread, this is what curl commands worked for me: curl --anyauth -u "admin:<password>" "http://<ipaddress>/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=setConfig&Lighting\[0\]\[1\].Mode=Auto" curl --anyauth -u "admin:<password>"...

API to turn on light for the IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV

This command worked perfectly with my Dahua Color-X 4K camera. This is how I run it with curl: curl --anyauth -u "admin:<password>" "http://<ipaddress>/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=setConfig&Lighting\[0\]\[1\].Mode=Auto" Thank you very much.

Dahua IPC-Color4K-T has anyone figure out API to operate the LED?

You can use an executable command like curl to submit the http calls. I got curl as part of the cygwin package.

Tun on LEDs based on motion

Hi @actran. BI5 has the ability to run a number of actions on Alert: None specific to LEDs though. I will check other threads.

Tun on LEDs based on motion

Hi, I have 9 dahua-ipc-color4k-x-dh-ipc-hfw5849t1 and they are amazing in many ways. The LEDs are bright too. Only problem is, it does not seem to be possible to turn/them on based on a motion. The Auto choice turns them on all night. I would rather not keep them on all night and I think it...

    Triggers only playback

Hi, I just can't figure this out. I record "continuous + triggered" but in this case I want to playback triggers/alerts only, one after the other, and skip non-triggered recordings. [Edit: The are no duplicate recordings, alerts go to Database only] Can it be done? Thanks!

Switching from "Export to MP4 files" to "Database only"

Eventually I decided to start from scratch and erase my previous recordings. Something odd though, my disk space recordings jumped in size by a factor of almost 10. I think the Continuous recording in combination with exporting events as mp4 must had been recording live at sub-stream level...

Switching from "Export to MP4 files" to "Database only"

The first step went as expected. I Switched all cameras "when triggered add to alerts list" to "Database only" and the Events icons on the left of the UI are still there and all is working the same. I then pointed my Alerts folder (which should be useless now) to the first drive, formatted the...

Switching from "Export to MP4 files" to "Database only"

Sounds great. I will switch to "Database only" and will reformat the whole drive with the mp4 Alert files. By the way, I will also increase the cluster side to 1MB which should help all kinds of ways.

Switching from "Export to MP4 files" to "Database only"

Thank you @wittaj. Just to confirm. I can switch from "Export to MP4 files" to "Database only" and I will not loose the incident markers for the duration of the 24/7 recordings? Will the incident markers continue to appear when I select the "Alerts" menu to the left of the main UI?

Switching from "Export to MP4 files" to "Database only"

Yes, I think what you say is what I want. By saving markers I meant to save the incident points so they show up on the left sidebar. Now I see them when I set the menu to "Alerts". I don't care about saving the mp4 files of the Alerts since the first few months are in the 24/7 recordings anyway...

Switching from "Export to MP4 files" to "Database only"

Hi, I have been very happy with Blue Iris for over a year now with 9 4K cameras. My original setup was a 14TB drive for 24/7 and a 14TB drive for Events. All in full resolution. But problems are brewing. The 14TB of Events smells trouble. One problem is the number of files which will exceed 1...

BI Clips and Archiving, mainly dealing with New and Alerts

@bug99 did you even figure how to get rid of the 3000 files without disabling the nice view of Events in the UIs. I would think that is the whole point of the "Database only" option.

BI Clips and Archiving, mainly dealing with New and Alerts

@bug99 I have 800K files (mp4) in my alerts folder and normally things work perfectly: I have 5 months of Continuous recording and 18 months of alerts video all in H.265 (I use Export to mp4 files). In the the BI UI and iOS app I see all the events. Excellent. The only problem is when I upgraded...

    Sub folders for storage

Similar question but for Alerts: Can I use subfolders for alerts? This would be amazing if I could use it for alerts too (I currently have 800K alerts in a single directory): %Y%m\&CAM.%Y%m%d_%H%M%S Thanks, Thanasis

Massive number of files in alerts directory

Nice. That upload comes to just 1.5Mbps if my calculations are right.

Massive number of files in alerts directory

I meant that BI could create an alerts subdirectory for each day automatically. As users of the BI interface we would never notice anything.

Massive number of files in alerts directory

Is that alerts BVR in the "New" or the "Alerts" folder? Cloning is another interesting idea. I could set the clones to record only alerts to their own BVR file. Probably will complicated the interface but guaranteed to work. It is frustrating that the solutions seems to be so easy: just have...

We suspect the person probably staged a fall which may be visible that is is fake. Maybe also had the spot checked out before pretending to fall.

Massive number of files in alerts directory

Another can of worms. I can't get umbrella coverage because I am considered too close to the shore - they don't care that I am on a hill, they have their miles distance and that's is all they go by. Complicated. Another problem is they can sue for more than the coverage anyway. Finally, most of...

Massive number of files in alerts directory

If the alerts BVR is separate from the Continuous recording BVR (and a separate drive), then this would be exactly what I want. I will test it over the weekend. Thank you.

Massive number of files in alerts directory

I just checked. I have "Combine or cut video each:" checked with 8 hours and 4GB. I also have the "Also re-triggers" under Alerts unchecked which I believe means that there is only alert file for multiple continuous triggers. Here is what I don't understand. Many people advice not to create...

Massive number of files in alerts directory

I am in NYC unfortunately. I know liability is ridiculous here. It is abused a lot. I don't have time to check my alerts regularly and it is a huge comfort to know the clips are there.

Massive number of files in alerts directory

Hi, and thank you for helping. I update my install every few weeks. I now run 5.6.1.3. I find the internet much more helpful that the help file. I just searched it for "Database only" and found not results.

I must be missing something. How do people handle large numbers of Alerts when the equivalent continuous recording is too big to be acceptable?

Massive number of files in alerts directory

Thank you but what option do I have? How can I have the equivalent of a year of alert clips without a million mp4 files? if BI could merge the clips or if it could put them into a separate subdirectory per day or even a subdirectory per camera, there would be no problem. Can we ask the...
