Haha, just found those cameras on a uk site for £180 (including vat). I suspect they would get them cheaper than retail prices. Going to give them 1 chance to explain the pricing to me and check they deducted the cost of the old cameras. Probably wasting my time, but I’m intrigued to know.

That makes sense. To be honest, if it had been a couple hundred then I probably wouldn't have questioned it but yeah, 700 makes me wonder if they just added the 4 cameras I specced and didn't remove the ones they originally quoted for :)

Thank-you. So the only other thing I'm wondering is about the AI features (whatever that actually means).... They told me the cognitio can differentiate between people/cars etc and only send alerts when either of those are detected, and not cats etc. A mute point, as I probably wont use...

That is a dilemma….I want to cover a wide area with each camera, but I am having two at the front, one on each end of the house looking inwards etc. I understand there are therefore compromises…. What would be a better spec, 3.5 camera (or whatever is 1 up from 2.8) with less mp or bigger...

Sorry guys, but how has a thread asking for opinions of Unify kit, gone to one advising on how to buy Dahua cameras from some guy called Andy. I’m sure Andy is a really nice guy, but not relevant in this thread what I’m hearing is that Unify kit is considered expensive proprietary equipment...

Hi, This is my first post. In general, are Ubiquiti UniFi cameras a good brand, or to be avoided? At the moment I don’t know which models (which I understand is the most important detail) so just wondering what the opinions are of the brand in general. We use their access points at work but...
