Updated settings, clear capture is from a clean yellow plate and the bad one is about 15 mins later on a newer salted covered white NY plate. -

Not the OP and this was the test install, I have since mounted a box to the tree with the camera, also put camo tape on the box, makes the camera blend in nicely. -

I am going to try and tilt it up, funny as OpenALPR will miss cars that are clear as day on Blue Iris playback but it captures this perfectly, maybe thats how it goes...LOL -
