***PSA for those with a New DAHUA NVR with Built-in PoE switch

I’m going to buy a second router (Asus) and use with my setup as it’ll have DDNS and built-in VPN as my existing Amplifi HD mesh system has neither. This will cost at most the same as a Raspberry Pi with OpenVPN loaded onto it for remote NVR access connection. The question I have can the new...

***PSA for those with a New DAHUA NVR with Built-in PoE switch

I think for the cost of a new Raspberry Pi I can buy a decent new Asus router that has OpenVPN and DDNS built in and bridge my Amplifi HD mesh network to it. My house is too large and has several dead spots to not use a mesh setup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

***PSA for those with a New DAHUA NVR with Built-in PoE switch

Thanks for the advice. I’m was planning to get a NVR rather than a dedicated PC for the cameras in a couple days. It sounds as if these devices go between the NVR and a router, correct? I’m starting to think buying a used PC is going to be a cheaper option than the Andy recommended...

***PSA for those with a New DAHUA NVR with Built-in PoE switch

Regarding the VPN, what if your router Doesn’t have it built in? I run a Amplifi HD mesh router as I live in a large house and it doesn’t have a way to add a VPN to it. Does that mean I need to buy a cheapo router that connects to the Amplifi router and has VPN installed on it for all the cameras?

Newbie, need advise on how to connect IP camera home system

I have it hard wired to the Surface Pro, not Wifi. I’ll either upgrade to a used PC or a NVR. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Newbie, need advise on how to connect IP camera home system

Thanks. I’ll give it shot later. Being that Andy quoted me a 8 POE NVR for $350 which doesn’t even include hard drives I know a used PC would be cheaper but I’m concerned on the BI learning curve. Having more plug/play has its benefits and especially when I need to figure out how to safely...

Newbie, need advise on how to connect IP camera home system

Keep in mind I’m new to this subject. I’m attempting to connect a T5422T-ZE from Andy to a TP-Link TL-SG1005 POE switch that connects into another dummy switch in my office that feeds into my Amplifi HD mesh router in the living room. I’m on the fence regarding BI or a NVR so I’m running a...

Question on Enviz doorbell ONVIF support needed for Newbie

I’m wanting to buy either a Enviz DB1 or DB1C doorbell. The only thing I don’t understand with the newer DB1C is the lack of ONVIF support. I am going to be running a few 5442 turrets and either a NVR from Andy or use my old i7 Lenovo or slightly less old i5 Surface Pro 3 laptop with BI if...

Newbie, need advise on how to connect IP camera home system

Also, is a gig switch required for up to 6-7 cameras? Or will 10/100 switches suffice?

Newbie, need advise on how to connect IP camera home system

Hi, I'm about to take delivery on a IPC-B5442E-Z4E and IPC-HFW2231T-ZS-S2 camera to overlook my driveway at night. I was hoping to go with a turret but Andy at Empire Tech didn't think my 55' Identify requirement would have worked out unless I was using the B5442E-Z4E. I don't like mixing and...
