[tool] [tutorial] Free AI Person Detection for Blue Iris

There is an easier way to do this. Setup the Blue Iris integration through HACS. I have a blueprint listed on the HA forums that works via an input Boolean. When AITool gets a positive result, it sends an MQTT message. I have nodered take the message and turn on the input Boolean. When the...

I can not describe how excited I am that this forum is not liberal or at least allows this thread and these discussions.

A bit confused on a doorbell

I've read almost every thread about Doorbells. I'm in the same boat, the Nest Hello is my last cloud device. I could not find anything suitable that played well with blue iris and would sent events that Home Assistant could pick up. They all are just OK, or too big and look like a phone book...

In case anyone wants the latest compile of the VorlonCD tool. I compiled it from the latest code on the github. I take no credit for any of this. Just happened to figure out how to do it lol. EDIT: Backup your current AITool folder before overwriting any files. Version in pic.

Blue Iris system recommendation? AMD vs Intel?

Wanted to update this. I did what I could to get the CPU moving. Home Assistant: 5 feeds background, 1 main feed foreground WebUI from laptop: Main feed foreground BI Server: Main feed from program and WebUI with the 5 camera feeds. Deepstack was also running some vehicles going down the...

Blue Iris system recommendation? AMD vs Intel?

I recommend intel. I have an i9-9900K cpu, 1050Ti vid card, 32GB ram. Blue Iris is using the Intel igpu (Quick Sync) and I have Deepstack using the 1050Ti gpu. 5 Cameras all at the full x265 5MP setting. My CPU usage sits at 1-3%. Substreams are key. Rarely goes over 6-7% when theres lots of...

To encode or not to encode.... i9-9900K

I read the links. Not sure how this is related to same mistake as Nest? I've had these nest cams for YEARS. Pre-IQ cams, pre-google, 3 are indoor cameras that are outdoors in some cheap chinese outdoor bullet enclosures. I cant knock them, they served their purpose for years in sub-zero temps...

To encode or not to encode.... i9-9900K

New to Blue Iris. Only one camera is hooked up right now for testing. Looking to replace my Nest system. Will be 4-6 total cameras. Going with Amcrest 1179s from Amazon, I flashed one to the dahua firmware. I have a pretty powerful system running Blue Iris. i9-9900K, 32GB Ram, (2) 500GB NVME...
