    Do these siding clips work?

Hey thanks for the response. It's neat to hear that these are a viable solution for some situations. Once you had the cams mounted, did you water/weatherproof the back of them somehow? I'm sure this will be super helpful to some, thanks again

Where to position front door cam?

I have though about a doorbell cam, but would like to stay away from Wi-Fi based cameras and keep them all hardwired. Also, even if ended up using a PoE doorbell cam, I feel like I may has we'll use a full PoE mini dome like the one in my op. But it's certainly an option I'm still considering...

Where to position front door cam?

Thanks for the info! I had been thinking something similar, head level on one side of the door. I just wasn't sure how the exterior lights would impact the camera or if it needed to be above/below them for some reason. In another thread I had created someone suggested notching the vinyl siding...

Where to position front door cam?

Hello all I've been working on mapping out the positions where I will be mounting my cameras. I was suggested a 2MP IPC-E3241F-M-AS mini dome camera for this. Are there other cameras you would suggest for this purpose? Additionally, where would you suggest positioning it around the door frame...

    Do these siding clips work?

Got it, thanks. Waiting for a couple of these mounting blocks to get delivered then will see what I can do.

    Do these siding clips work?

I am curious how I would route the wire behind the siding, would you notch it or something so the wire could get behind the siding and then be able to snap the siding closed again? Thanks

    Do these siding clips work?

I agree and will remember to route it out of the bottom. If I was going to mount a cam on the side of my house and needed to run cable around 10 feet up and into the soffit/attic - what would you recommend to use as a conduit or covering for the cable? I suppose I could use outdoor rated cable...

    Do these siding clips work?

Would you recommend an appropriate junction box on top of those mounting blocks? Or if I had a dahua turret cam for example could that be fastened directly to it. It looks like I could attach it through the siding with a couple screws that went into my exterior wall sheathing? Just trying to...

    Do these siding clips work?

Ohhh now we're cooking with gas! This is more in line with what I was hoping to find. I could, in theory, mount a junction box to that ( or the cam directly ) and route the cable up into the soffit. Then silicone everything up tight. Maybe even drill a 1/16" hole or two into the bottom of that...

    Do these siding clips work?

Thanks! I've seen some similar blocks and they seem like an option I may end up going with, but was just hoping to avoid drilling. I had though I could use conduit or some UV protecting coating on some outdoor related CAT5e and run it up into my soffits/attic instead of a hole through the...

    Do these siding clips work?

I see what you're saying about how it may bend/stress the siding once tightened down. I'll keep digging to see if I can find any installation examples and would be curious if anyone here has experience with them! Probably worth a try. I imagine it'd be tough if not impossible to get a weather...

    Do these siding clips work?

I think I know the answer, but I am trying to plan out my install and would rather not be cutting through vinyl siding all over the house in an effort to mount the cameras. I'm curious if anyone has had any luck implementing these somehow. My guess is they aren't sturdy/permanent enough to...

    R0 / DS-2CD2x32 BrickfixV2 brick recovery and full upgrade tool - enhanced.

Thanks for the reply. These are older cams, fairly sure I got them via AliExpress and I believe they may be the Chinese version Although I do not see either of those serial number configurations...is it okay if I post a picture of the sticker on the camera? Does that contain any info I shouldn't...

    R0 / DS-2CD2x32 BrickfixV2 brick recovery and full upgrade tool - enhanced.

Hello, not sure if this is an appropriate question for this thread but it's very close to on Topic! :) Apologies if not. I have a DS-2CD2032-I that has not been connected in quite some time. It's actually NEVER been connected. I am unsure as to what firmware is currently on it, I am working on...

    Network Redesign Help

Thanks, I suppose I could look for an 8-12 port unmanaged POE switch to place behind my BI Cam NIC. I will follow along to some of the other posts regarding this structure, but it sounds like defining a network at the CAM-NIC level and placing all of the cams on that network. Then the second...

    Network Redesign Help

Im currently looking to implement an CCTV network which will consist of around 6 cams and BI machine. I am using this as an opportunity to redesign my home network as well. I have intermediate networking knowledge, but have never setup a network of this size/complexity so I wanted to ensure I...

Can I just block cameras from net?

Could you put in a firewall rules that denies all traffic to and from your BI LAN NIC? Or just allow traffic on the ports required for Windows Updates? I like the idea of keeping the box up to date, but don't want it to be able to communicate with the outside unless I want it to. Trying to...
