Review - Dahua IPC-HFW7442H-Z 4MP Ultra AI Varifocal Bullet Camera

Hello, I am very interested in the Ultra-AI series and look forward to your review. Could you answer a few questions? According to the technical data, the Ultra-AI series can have four substreams instead of two. 1. can you say for which substreams mjpeg is possible as codec? 2. for which...

Dahua Ultra Starlight Varifocal Bullet (IPC-HFW8232E-Z)

That's a bit too simple. The night view capabilities depends on the the pixel size and the technology used. The IPC-HF8835F has 8MP and the night view is much better than on the IPC-HFW8232E-Z.

Dahua Ultra Starlight Varifocal Bullet (IPC-HFW8232E-Z)

That doesn't matter, except you want to access the camera from the internet. Perhaps your used system doesn't supper http-digest-auth. Dahua only accept http-digest-auth, http-basic-auth isn't supported (you remember our conversion on ali? ;) ) Just try the URL with VLC. If it works, the URL...

Dahua 4k Starlight with 1/2 sensor (CVI only for now)

According to Sony the IMX334 is a 1/1.8" sensor with a resolution of 3952x2320 (9.17 M pixels). The recommended resolution is 3840x2160. Dahua uses this resolution. I think this resolution uses "only" 1/2" of the 1/1.8" sensor.

    10MP Ultra Lowlight Camera possible

IPC-HF is always without lens,IPC-HFW is bullet with lens, IPC-HDBW is Dome with lens. I'm looking forward to see a Dahua Cam with IMX294 as IPC-HDBW. ;)

Dahua Ultra Starlight Varifocal Bullet (IPC-HFW8232E-Z)

Hi, 8231 is like the turret 5231. It's nearly the same sensor but with better WDR (IMX291 vs. IMX290).

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

I've tested it. IMX185 is old but has very big pixels. IMX385 will be better but is very new and not available at the moment. I've compared Dahua IMX291 to Dahua IMX178. There is no big difference at lowlight. This is because the IMX178 delivers the Image with 14Bit. With 14 Bit you can use WDR...

of course it will. A F1.2 lens lets pass more than double the light a F2.0 lens will do.

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

The use of IMX178 is not as simple as the use of a IMX291 (Dahua 5231). If you want a really good IMX178 cam you can go with Axis, Mobotix, Hikvision and Dahua. Dahua with IMX178 is really good at low light, you can compare it with the IMX291. IMX185 is currently the best in low light I love...

Hikvision no longer selling to the end user

    Hi --> IPC-HF8232F --> IPC-HFW8232E-Z --> IPC-HFW8232E-Z --> IPC-HDBW8232E-Z --> Not Outdoor, it's a indoor Cam. --> use the IPC-HDBW8232E-Z --> SD65F230F-HNI --> IPC-HF8232F --> SD6AE230F-HNI The Dahua 5231 (Sony Starvis IMX291) is very good and is good at low light. But it is not as...

    10MP Ultra Lowlight Camera possible

It drops because the pixelsize decreases and it all uses nearly the same technology. The sensitivity depends mainly on the pixel-size and the technology (mainly bsi vs. fsi). Just compare the pixel size. The Dahua Ultra-Smart Starlight 2MP (except the 8232) uses the Sony IMX290 with a...

    10MP Ultra Lowlight Camera possible

Hi guys, sony anounced a new very great sensor. - 10.71 MP - very big sensor: 4/3" - the current lowlight champion (IMX185 - Hikvision Darkfighter) uses 3.75um pixels and old fsi-technology, the new 10.71 MP one uses bigger 4.63um pixels and modern bsi-technology, it's a starvis-sensor. - no...

    Dahua api auth? What's wrong?

Hi, -d enables debug-output. wget http://user:pass@IP/cgi-bin/snapshot.cgi works fine with my Dahua and wget 1.16. Perhaps you should use a newer version. Your 1.12 is very old.

Starlight or higher mp camera for well lit areas?

You could use the 6MP models with the larger Sony Starvis IMX178 (1/1.8") sensor. I'm very impressed.

xx26 Darkfighter uses the IMX185. On hikvisioneurope it is 0.0027lx @F1.4 xx25 Lightfighter uses the IMX290. On hikvisioneurope it is 0.007x @F1.4 IMX185 is 1/1,8", the IMX290 is 1/2,8". But it is not as simple as that. The IMX185 is big but uses old technology. It is a frontside illuminated...
