Broke my torx bit in a new T5442 set screw

Finally got it backed out of there and didn't have to go full Dremel on it like TonyR's picture. I knew it was really tight at first but didn't expect it to snap the torx bit. I'm sure it's common sense but if you get one that's this tight hit it with some lube and work the screw back and forth...

Broke my torx bit in a new T5442 set screw

The bit was broken off inside the screw and wedged inside. I finally got the broken bit out of the screw and I'm trying to lube/tighten/loosen the screw so I can hopefully walk it out of there. Damn thing almost feels cross threaded either way it's a tight sob.

Broke my torx bit in a new T5442 set screw

Yeah, I have a set. The problem now is when the screw started getting tight I switched to a Snap-on torx bit and that's what's broken in there now. I tried drilling but it's hardend steel and that's not happening. Damn, what a way to start the weekend:banghead:

Broke my torx bit in a new T5442 set screw

I just got a new T5442T and was trying to back out the torx screw so I could mount the plate. Unfortunately, the screw was only got tighter and snapped my bit off inside. I worked the screw back and forth initially because it was so tight but had to back it out far enough to separate the frame...

Need advice for cameras for school playground

I would think varifocals and ptz cams would a good call. I know at our district were using a lot if ptz cameras. Have you looked at any of those, just give you a lot more flexibility.

REVIEW: Budget 4MP Turret Comparison - IPC-T2431T-AS vs Chinese HDW4433C-A

I think these are going to be very close in performance, with the 2431 possibly edging out the 1179 in night view due to the 4mp vs 5mp. One thing to note the 1179 uses a plastic outer frame/mount with no set screw to lock it in place. So if its with in arms reach one can easily reposition it...

Which of these cameras would provide the best low light performance?

I know the bigger sensor is better and the lower minimum illumination better but how does the aperture size affect the low light performance? The 2mp varifocal has an F1.5 while the other two have F1.6 and my T5442T-ZE has a F1.8 I guess the bigger number is better?

Which of these cameras would provide the best low light performance?

I Have the Amcrest model and the low light is not to bad and was thinking about getting another one but the specs on the other two are similar/better for a bit more money. So if one is better I might order one of them. I have a T5442T-ZE installed and a T5442T on the way from Andy. Just looking...

Help setting up a new camera, no ip addy

Alright, that was definitely more involved than the Amcrest cameras. I'm glad I know how to do it now, I have a couple more Dahuas on the way. The look on my wifes face when I went out after midnight in the pouring down rain to install that camera was priceless. She said I can barely get you to...

Trying to set up a new T5442T-ZE in BI but it’s not showing up in my router. I rebooted my router and hub and nothing. Tried 2 known work cables and different ports on the hub. Did a hard reset on the camera and still no ip for it in the router. I have three cams working fine and as I recall...

Paint my LPR Camera or no?

Yeah, I don't know that it would hold up to well in the weather. I've got a white turret camera that needs to be painted brown to match the house. Trying to tape off that round lens area is going to be a pain so I've been thinking about other ways to change the color without paint.

    information about camera models

No experience with that model but the specs are not great, you will get what you pay for with ip cameras. It all depends on what your expectations are. This Amcrest IP5M-T1179EW is a good "budget priced" camera. Good daytime performance, night vision while not excellent is not to bad for the...

I'm wondering how the IPC-T2431T compares in low light conditions to the IP5M-T1179EW, an even cheaper priced cam with similar specs? The 4mp, T2431T has a Min. Illumination :0.008 Lux @ F1.6 The 5mp,T1179E has a Min. Illumination :0.008 Lux @ F1.6 Where they differ is the sensor size T2431...

    Review-OEM 4mp AI Cam IPC-T5442TM-AS Starlight+

Is this pretty much the same camera as the one in the thread title? I know it differs as a varifocal vs fixed lens but I'm talking about the 4MP, 1/1.8" CMOS image sensor, low illuminance, Starlight+ similarity(that and the part number) Looking for one of these to use in a low light area. I've...

    Having trouble with substream.

Ok we got it. When I deleted the camera and then reinstalled it, the video compression defaults back to re-encode. I must have changed it to "direct to disk" when I first set up the cameras and completely forgot about it on the new camera install. That must be why my cpu was spiking. (still new...
