Is there a way to completely reset?

Thanks I will give that a go when I’m at work on Monday. I’ve had to set something else to record until I get this resolved. Do you know if there is a way to remove a couple cameras as well? During this process I may have gone a camera or so too far for the hardware which may be contributing to...

Is there a way to completely reset?

Hi all, is there a way to completely reset the db/start over outside of BI? In the process of dealing with storage issues (upgrading single 4tb drive to 2x 10 tb drives) and swapping out some cameras I’ve managed to get BI to become unresponsive so, as I have a backup of the old video (ie the...

    Recording Audio with Direct2Disk?

It is D2D, I found the problem, the new cameras frame rates are obviously too high. They were set at 20fps, dropping them down to 15fps has reduced/removed the issue (I think the old 720p ones were set for 15, and we had just configured wrong initially before we installed them).

    Recording Audio with Direct2Disk?

Ok, I must be running into some other issue. I know that the replacement cameras are higher resolution than the existing, but my CPU usage shot up WAY high (ie: I remove 9 720p cameras and added 2 2K cameras and my CPU usage is at like 70% no motion detection, direct to disk where it was at...

    Recording Audio with Direct2Disk?

Is it possible to record audio while using Direct2Disk or will it cause a spike in CPU usage?

    Camera live view lag

No, because it’s more than just local clock offness. For one thing the bi server is the ntp server for the cameras, so drift is fairly minimal. The delay is most noticeable like when watching the camera feed and watching someone move - there is a delay, it’s not a time offset where the...

    Camera live view lag

Local UI3 (well, local on same premises, but a different VLAN since it is punched through to the internet for remote access). The machine is in a rack in our server closet so we never look at the actual console unless using RDP to reconfigure something. We currently have 21 cameras split...

    Camera live view lag

Hi all, I brought a thread about this a while back that while viewing the web interface, it was a few seconds behind real time. Right now, it's almost 5 seconds behind real time. CPU usage is total system ~32%, BI CPU ~29% Memory: total usage 72%, BI using 3.3 GB out of 8 total currently the...

    Remote Management question

If using remote management (through a second copy of BI), even if just using to view, can a user with just camera group viewing permissions make that remote connection, or is using BI remote forced to an administrative user level?

    Remote Management question

The use case is a front desk monitoring station that is only concerned with 4 cameras. 1.5 second delay can easily have a potential hostile actor whom is running from outside to inside before action could be taken (front office is very close to the front doors but not looking straight out front...

    Remote Management question

Id prefer not. This is just a monitoring station that multiple people would have access to, if rather then not have direct access to the master system

    Remote Management question

Hi all, So, I have BI5 up and running and doing a decent job but I have a couple questions before I look into a second license for remote management: 1) Do the users need to still have administrative rights? 2) Is the video delay lower than when viewing through UI3? Normally on UI3 I'm...

BI5 restart after unexpected shut down key problem

Hi all, I have recently purchased BI5, and for the most part it has been running great, but I had this happen today (have been doing work on the server, including making changes that required restarts). At one point I wwent to launch the console and it asked me for my product key stating it was...

    Question about BI4 vs BI5

I went ahead and bit the bullet and bough Bi5 to donate to the school I work for. Put it on a i7 3770 and it's working fairly well so far, I've got >700mpix/s and only using 35% cpu with remote desktop open, so it's a lot better than the AMD system I had (this many pushed it w/ bi4 to pin at...

    Question about BI4 vs BI5

Hi all, I currently have an older system running on an AMD and overloading it that I plan to setup on an i7 system that should work out better. I've had this system up and running for a fairly long time now (about 4 years) and it's running BI 4.x. So I have two options right now - move my...

Lag + other issue on Web UI3 question

Hi all, We are monitoring the cameras on our network via the web interface at our front desk - not all of them, just 4. We are running into two issues I'm not sure where the culprit is... 1) Lagging video - it plays smoothly but it's at about a 1.5 -2.5 second delay from what is actually...

    Blue Iris UI3

Hi, First off I love UI3 - I had been using ui2 for a very long time and had just recently updated my BI which now has ui3! Awesome interface, and thrilled with the functionality of it. I do have a question - I saw the settings for idle timeout - is this stored per user or per site? I ask...

    Quick question about https...

Hi all, I'm running a fairly old (4.2.5.x) version of BI where I needed to use stunnel to provide HTTPS access to the BI web interface, does the current version (4.7.x) support https out of the box or will I still need to use stunnel? I'm getting ready to update, but wanted to make sure I knew...

Use Two LAN Ports (1 for cameras only)?

Honestly, this is exactly how I have mine setup. 2 VLANs, one isolated to just the cameras and the BI machine, the other has just has my BI machine and a router interface. I also have a NTP server running on the BI machine for the cameras to sync their clocks to. It works well and keeps the...
