Firmware update on IPC-Color4K-T180 / IPC-PDW5849-A180-E2-ASTE bricked it

The serial port of the camera is a JST 1.25 4 way plug, I bought a plug/cable of ebay, then connected it to a terminal, and then connected the terminal to the pins of a CP2102 Module USB to TTL Serial adapter: The black wire is ground, which was just connected to any screw of the camera, the...

Firmware update on IPC-Color4K-T180 / IPC-PDW5849-A180-E2-ASTE bricked it

Just to clarify I had to put all these files from the ZIP andy sent me on a TFTP server: Then boot the camera with serial cable connected and run the command "run up" which flash the camera correctly with all files downloaded from the TFTP server

Andy sent me the firmware General_IPC-HX5(4)XXX-Taurus_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V3.140.0000000.7.R.231224 and it worked, the camera is back alive. I tried to updated again via web interface to 2024 to test, bricked again, had to use TFTP method and flash the camera completely again to 2023 version...

Firmware update on IPC-Color4K-T180 / IPC-PDW5849-A180-E2-ASTE bricked it

on another note, if I update manually the 5 firmware files from Dahua V3.140.0000000.32.R.250115, on the first boot the camera works, if I power cycle the camera, it no longer works.

I've managed to get the firmware DH_IPC-HX5(4)XXX-Taurus_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V3.120.0000000.39.R.230918 from Dahua, then copied the following to an sdcard: firmware-x.squashfs.img kernel.img pd-x.squashfs.img romfs-x.squashfs.img web-x.squashfs.img booted the camera with serial cable, pressed...

Firmware update on IPC-Color4K-T180 / IPC-PDW5849-A180-E2-ASTE bricked it

Firmware update of my IPC-Color4K-T180 from empiretech went terribly wrong. Not sure if this is a buggy firmware update, the firmware was downloaded from empiretech's website V3.140.0000000.32.R.250115, update was done as usual, camera never came back working. When botting ip, it picks up the IP...

Cameras slow when plugged into Dahua NVR switch

In mine, I just added 3 cameras to the Poe ports, all of them had the odd skipping a second here and there. Slowing down and speeding up from time to time.

Cameras slow when plugged into Dahua NVR switch

But the interface from NVR to network is gbit, the cameras are like 10mbit max normally, so I would not be anywhere near the limits. even with the ports at 100mbit, and the NVR 1gbit downlink should be plenty. I wonder if the stream is relayed via the NVR or if I stream directly from the camera...

Cameras slow when plugged into Dahua NVR switch

I don't think so, otherwise I would experience the same using an external network switch, right? Thanks for confirming. I can't understand how Dahua let's things like this escape quality control... Is this bad firmware or is it the hardware?

Configuring different IVS areas, some with and some without notifications

pardon me if I'm being thick, but I cannot find a way to see any of the IVS rules on the DMMS app when accessing the camera: It only gives me the option to switch on or off intrusion or tripwire, there is no way to access the rules I created on the camera:

Configuring different IVS areas, some with and some without notifications

Is possible to set up multiple IVS areas on a camera, for example, 2 intrusion detection zones, and have 1 to notify via push notification using the DMSS app via the NVR, and another zone that does not notify, but records when movement is detected? I want to be notified on a camera on a certain...

Dahua NVR and Camera Setup - Best Practice

The camera gives itself that IP address during boot, then falls back to 192.168.1.108, it is likely to be part of some sort of recovery mode. My cameras have access to the internet, this network the camera uses now because it is bricked, does not exist on my firewall, so it won't be routed anywhere.

Dahua IPC EASY unbricking / recovery over TFTP

I downloaded the firmware for the IPC-Color4K-T180 from empiretech website, then used 7zip to decompress that .bin file which then gave me a list of files: the "install" file lists all file that I believe need to be written to flash: { "Commands" : [ "burn kernel-aol.img kernel-aol"...

Dahua NVR and Camera Setup - Best Practice

I'm having the same problem with a camera from empiretech, it was dropping out sometimes after a firmware update, then out of nowhere it died, it comes back with the IP 192.168.1.251. When it boots up, briefly I can get ping reponses on that IP address, like 6 seconds, then stops responding. At...

    IPC-Color4K-T and IPC-Color4K-T180 230227 Firmware

And the camera died again, out of nowhere. After a few attempts switching power on and off, it started responding to pings, then went dead completely. I'll have to climb the ladder again I guess tomorrow to try resetting it to factory again. Most likely will need to downgrade the firmware if I...

Dahua NVR awkward playback of footage

I also have a Blueiris, I've beee using it for the last 2 years+, but it needs Windows, cannot run in Linux, the client web app is pretty mediocre, I need a VPN to connect back to it remotely, the Android app is useless (the paid version). I eventually went to Scrypted, much nicer, but I pay...

Dahua NVR awkward playback of footage

Is there a better way to review/show/display recent footage recorded in a Dahua NVR? I found SmartPSS Lite is pretty bad with playback of recorded footage. You can't simply/quickly find an recent event and play it, you need to go to playback, search for a time period, then dig the events from...
