Project Requirements - Harvesting High Quality Still Images from Recorded Video

Wow, okay -- so this client actually wants to proceed here, even though I explained that these 'still' photos are NOT going to look professional whatsoever. That being said, I am trying to spec out the right Camera(s)+NVR system for the job. As the pictures attached to the first post on this...

Project Requirements - Harvesting High Quality Still Images from Recorded Video

Well said. I am going to have to dumb all of this down a bunch for the client so they can truly understand that they shouldn't be trying to use this system for both livestreaming, and for producing good stills. I am going to use a spork analogy. A spork makes an okay-ish spoon, and it makes an...

Project Requirements - Harvesting High Quality Still Images from Recorded Video

For any typical wedding/situation, I agree with your approach. However, to reiterate, one of the requirements the client is giving me here is that during the ceremony, while the officiator is officiating, no photographer/videographer is allowed to be present in the immediate area of those...

Project Requirements - Harvesting High Quality Still Images from Recorded Video

While I wholeheartedly agree with you, it's a bit more complicated. Without going too far into detail, one of the explicit requirements I am being given is that no photographers be present in the immediate area of those getting married. That being said, I am wondering if there are any 'think...

Project Requirements - Harvesting High Quality Still Images from Recorded Video

If I am not posting this in the right place, please direct me elsewhere. I will try to keep this short and sweet. Client wants to record wedding ceremonies, and the biggest requirement is that the solution allows for High Quality frame-by-frame recap. The idea is that an export of the ceremony...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Dude this is so awesome … is this not the best doorbell on the market?

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Use the frigate add on in HA for 2 way audio via HA. There are YouTube videos showing exactly how to set it up:

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

1.) from what I can tell, yes, for the reolink app to be able to notify you of doorbell press, you need the doorbell to be Internet connected 2.) yes comes through as a visitor ONVIF event, but I had issues where sometimes nothing would register at all or it would register with a ton of latency...

Does your Amazon not show the coupon?

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Not sure but worth a shot — you could order it on Amazon prime and if it doesn’t work send er back.

Ahh I see … I think if you use Frigate (which supports 2 way audio) in conjunction with Home Assistant, you might be able to streamline that flow faster.

Do you not have push notifications working?
  15. T

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I believe you can configure the doorbell for push notifications in the WebUI settings of the doorbell. I imagine your doorbell will need to be able to get out to the Internet as well. I don’t allow my cameras to be able to get out to the internet, so I get around this using cam2mqtt +...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

That is correct. TechBill was suggesting alerts for motion, but I only want 'visitor' (doorbell press) alerts. So, I have that working great using cam2mqtt --> Home Assistant push notification.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I appreciate this perspective. I may end up giving Scrypted a try at some point, but for now, I am working on building a ProjectCode AI docker container with NVIDIA GPU passthrough. For me, I really only want to be alerted when someone presses the doorbell. Me, my wife, and others, constantly...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Straight up the only reason I got it, and it's quite embarrasing, is because I live in a house with no doorbell lol. I work in the basement, and FedEx will come here to deliver packages that require signature, and they'll knock, and I won't hear it. So now, when they press the Reolink doorbell...

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I use substreams everywhere. I just figured with my old CPU, i7-6700, HA was still necessary. Anyhow, I am just going to deal with it; I'll keep this damn PoE doorbell, even though if seems like a bit of junk. It still doesn't make sense to my why this camera is nowhere near as good as my Annke...

Ahh, I see -- No signal = 0 for all of my cams.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

Where do I look for that specifically? I just stumbled upon this:FPS Drops - Blue Iris Saw they mentioned improved performance when turning off Hardware Acceleration. I just set HA on that camera to 'No' and it's improved a ton. What is going on with this camera lol? I have 8 other cameras...

OooOoo interesting finding in the logs: 'HW VA not compatible' for that particular camera.

Live stream is choppy both through the BlueIris desktop (thick) application, and through UI3 (browser web UI).

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

And, as I mentioned previously, viewing through VLC is perfect ... viewing through the Reolink 'Preview' window is perfect... It's just viewing the livestream via BlueIris that's the problem.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I mean, at least the recordings are perfect ... I just don't have the knowledge of understanding why the recording would be great but why I can't get a half decent livestream.
  28. T

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

I have experimented with all of the different stream qualities. It does get better when I drop it down super low but that's still not even what it should be. It will go down as low as 3 FPS even at 720p.

New Reolink Wired POE Doorbell Cam ?

That screen recording was via UI3. But, it happens in both UI3 via PC and the BlueIris App on my iPhone. I have 8 other cameras that all run like a top, absolutely no problems.
