Just Installed New Dahua - Main Stream Video "Path" is Blank

There is something really unusual going on with this camera. As soon as I change the IP with the browser link in the ConfigTool, I'm no longer able to login with any browser. BI 5 sees the camera and is installed. I've PM'd Andy. Thanks.

Just Installed New Dahua - Main Stream Video "Path" is Blank

I'm trying to install a new Dahua camera, and cannot figure out why under the network IP camera configuration, the main stream path is blank. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, verified the GUI is set like my other cameras, read the help file, and searched the web. The BI 5 help file only states...

Why is this capture not in focus?

The reason I wasn't seeing shutter because I had "MODE" set to auto. I hit the drop down to change to "shutter priortity", and there are options for shutter. I'll set it to what bigredfish suggested. I'll play with that setting. Thanks for your help!

Why is this capture not in focus?

Please bear with me, I'm a n3wb. Going thru every setting 2 or 3 times to find something that resembles "speed" Camera GUI Conditions and the Zoom and Focus tab has speed for Zoom and Focus, both set to 1, (5 and 20 are the options).

Why is this capture not in focus?

I'm logged into to camera GUI: exposure: Anti flicker: outdoor mode: auto exp comp: default (middle) auto iris: On 3D NR: On Grade: default (middle) spent 15 mins looking for shutter and speed: BI5 under PTZ/control is showing Shutter, but when mousing over nothing there is...

Why is this capture not in focus?

My camera captured this person in my driveway. Why is the text on his vest so blurry? This is from a Loryta B5442 set to max zoom (12mm) to capture the mailbox (and the kids who put trash in it). I don't know the exact settings that may help: so Ill provide a few and maybe get lucky: H.265...

    BI 5 Schedule Issues

I won't argue that I was confused, I did post asking a Q as opposed to providing an instructional post. IRT my last sentence, if I go back into Schedules (global), by default it's showing Profile 1 on the dropdown- it's not showing Profile 1 I set to be be green 24/7, it's showing the last...

    BI 5 Schedule Issues

Read the files, watched vids... What I determined was that there has to be at least one profile that is set to 24/7, and that does not allow the use of setting times, even though the s/w allows you to draw them, they don't stay set. The 2nd profile is based off of the first, and the times...

    BI 5 Schedule Issues

Can a faulty camera or BI be causing this? Cam 1 just went inactive. My main stream is .3 vs 4 MP at 0 fps, and I lost my sub stream. Logging into the camera everything appears good. I'm unable to make sense of the changes being made. I'm using the setting for my only camera, and have...

    BI 5 Schedule Issues

I've been attempting to setup Schedules for two profiles, and having no luck, the s/w is inconsistent in the way it responds from one function to the next: setting the time balloons sometimes works, mostly it doesn't selected all days, then hitting OK, then going back and no changes are saved...

Thoughts on Physically Locating PoE and CAT6

My 1st camera is a B5442E bullet, is it likely to need a separate IR light (I'm unfamiliar with)? Will those have to be powered from the PoE switch?

Thoughts on Physically Locating PoE and CAT6

I'm ready to install CAT6 and my switch. I have full access to attics where i can run the CAT, and currently have drywall open (remodeling) to get from 2nd floor to 1st floor office. I'm Unsure about where to physically place my switch: - run short lengths of CAT from cameras to switch that i...

    Starlight vs IR?

I really appreciate all the help you guys are providing! I'm really taking cautious steps here, as I just started reading about privacy. Camera install location can be tricky, especially when (possibly) having to deal with a difficult neighbor.

    Starlight vs IR?

Thank you for the clarification, and that camera recommendation; that specific camera is what I've been reading about. Noted on the camera numbers. Thanks!

    Starlight vs IR?

As I continue to read about cameras (overwhelmed) so I can make my first purchase, I'm confused as to the differences between Starlight and IR. Can someone please clarify, like is Starlight a newer version of IR? Is a Starlight camera less effective during the day? The reason I'm asking is I...

Already Made Introduction - n3wb Needs Help to Get Started w/Surveillance

Thanks for the info on the camera. I'm not looking to spend $1000 plus on a surveillance system over a barking dachshund. A dog that is specifically trained to attack people, per the owner, and is mostly locked in the house because it is so aggressive and cannot interact with anyone but the...

Already Made Introduction - n3wb Needs Help to Get Started w/Surveillance

After many hours reading and not really making progress, I thought I'd just ask a question to get some momentum. I need daytime surveillance only, covering a fence line where my neighbor has very aggressive (vicious) dogs that constantly jump at our fence, 1 foot from our sidewalk. Police code...

It's time for security. This site will be my source for my first system (not Ring or Arlo wifi), so here is a TIA to everyone who shares their knowledge; I'm going to be needing it. Mike Brighton, CO
