possible to store a few days of all video, not just clips ?

Set the cameras to record continuous. The triggers will still record but the continuous will record between the triggers. If I remember correctly, cont+triggers will record the substream then the main stream for triggers. Continuous will record all the main stream. I have 7 cameras with their...

Do your cows have ear tags? You could get some Oralite or 3m or other tape and put it on their tags. https://a.co/d/3rMoAVF https://a.co/d/gcAZ1KH https://a.co/d/9NUAqF8

    Mini-Review - 5241-Z12E-S2 - Replacement for the 5241-Z12E

It looks like there's some sore of reflection that moves across the back of the vehicle. The plate looks blown out when the reflections are in line with the plate. I don't know what's causing the reflection so I don't know if that would be the source of the blow out.

    Mini-Review - 5241-Z12E-S2 - Replacement for the 5241-Z12E

I agree about the plate. These 3 images are from the first 3 frames the plate are in view and they look readable for the most part. This is the first frame where none of the letters/numbers on the plate can be read. You can by the reflection of the headlight off the tailgate that the...

    Too many hard drives

Before I got a purpose bought desktop for BI, I repurposed an old file server I had laying around. It had 16x 3tb drives. I was quite pleased with Drivepool. I combined them all into one big drive, It doesn't have parity drives but the files can be duplicated. I set duplication at 3. It cut my...

I'm glad it's metal. It looks kinda plasticky in the pictures. I went ahead and ordered it.

Review- New Design Tendelux 10 Watt IR illuminator.

I guess I need to unplug it to see if the captures are much different. I installed it at the same time as the camera but I don't recall testing the camera without the ir. That's good to hear. Most of the times, the numbers seem to be only in best case conditions. B&H says expected availability...

Review- New Design Tendelux 10 Watt IR illuminator.

Have you tried out the Tendelux DI20 20 Watt IR illuminator? It's a 90* beam but claims an effective range of 150-240 feet. I have a z12e set up as an lpr at about 130 feet with a DI20 aimed in that direction to help out. The Iluminar claims a range of ~100 feet but the beam is a little more...

    Dahua WIZMIND X SERIES

It sounds like you are saying you believe the 12mp camera set to record at 8mp should have the same limitations or lack of limitations as an 8mp camera recording at 8mp. If I'm not mistaken, the camera still captures the 12mp image then downscales it on the camera to 8mp. If that's the case...

That's actually the point of the lottery. It's designed to increase sales. Sure, anyone can win. But your odds increase the more cameras you buy.

    This is Mind-blowing

successiveI agree with most of the above. I think the guy pulling the trailer was moving over as a courtesy for the vehicles on the side of the road. It sure looks to me like the truck just didn't want to let the trailer in. In the first picture, it looks like the trailer has enough room to...

Blue Iris PC and EmpireTech NVR together?

Thanks, that's what I thought I figured out but wanted to ask a pro to be sure. It looks like the 6 series has 2 network ports. They are also geared more for businesses and start off at $1K. That's a little much for my budget for a test platform. I don't mind plugging the NVR into the camera...

Blue Iris PC and EmpireTech NVR together?

To extend this conversation, I have my cameras on a separate network. All of the cameras are connected to POE switches. The BI is plugged into the switch. A dual NIC allows me to also plug the BI into the main network. If I want to add an NVR for testing and backup purposes, I should be able to...

In the view example, all of the camera views are pretty level. In the shots of the build, half the camera shrouds are mounted opposite the other half. Are you going to be mounting them with half facing more up and the other half facing more down?
