    PTZ5A4M-25X Tracking issues - Dahua SD5A425GA-HNR

There are some serious issues with auto tracking. I hope they are working on a firmware update as auto tracking is one of the main reasons I purchased this camera

Always be careful of new users trying to sell things at too good to be true prices, especially with no pictures. They can be scams

Best indoor and outdoor cameras from Dahua ?

Ideally, you would want a camera right outside the entrance pointing towards the door from the canopy to capture traffic coming out of the store. And the cameras viewing the parking, might get better coverage if the views were reversed as in crossing lines of sight

Best indoor and outdoor cameras from Dahua ?

For POS area, from what I'm reading, most installations use a close-up camera directly over the POS for capture of cash exchange and another overview camera to capture a wide shot of the area. Seems a text invertor can be used as well to get real-time register information and be overlayed onto...

Holy crap! That's "Bagman"! I see he is in the process of enabling his "Ghosting" cloaking device :idk:

Oh well. At least I had the car maker right. Oh, and I knew it was a truck - any points for that?

Ok, as long as its vegetable related, I guess we can give them a pass. By the way, the neighbors must have loved the drone overhead.

As I said, if I didn't know about it, I probably would have never seen it. Either way, it looks good to me, and there's the chance that a future firmware upgrade may help remedy it

    New Shed - Camera Suggestions

Well, I just ordered one from Andy to test out. My plan is to test it in the driveway location on one side to get an idea. If it works out, I'll replace the other side of the driveway. By the way, @IReallyLikePizza2, Andy has them for $152 plus you'll save the tax that Amazon will charge you...

    New Shed - Camera Suggestions

Wish ours was only 5 feet in the utility easement. I could have added 90 square feet to my shed I built. It's cramped in my shed currently; would be nice to have more room.

    The official "WTF" thread

I don't do selfies, never have. Seems everyone wants to share their life anymore thanks to social media. I don't think anyone cares about my lifestyle and I don't need to know about others, it's none of my business. I'm at the stage in my life where I don't care.

    The official "WTF" thread

I absolutely despise when they rotate the landscape image to play in portrait mode. It makes the image so damn small. Why? So people can view it in portrait mode on their phones with an even smaller image? I refuse to watch videos made into this idiotic format. This world is fucked

It definitely looks great. The only reason I noticed the slight noise is because you mentioned it in another thread. I likely would have never noticed if you didn't point it out.

Low-light struggles / improving image quality.

With some systems, like Lorex, they only give the option of H265 and 4096kb with their 8mp cameras. When there is a big change in the image (motion, exposure) it really pixelates and looks terrible. With H264H, there is no pixelization. I believe it's related to how the image is refreshed. I...

    New Shed - Camera Suggestions

I presume the 3449 has both IR and warm white LEDs? Correct me if I am wrong, but it looks like it is set up to switch to color and white light on event trip? I guess it will switch back within a set preset time when no motion is detected? If so, that's a pretty cool feature and well worth the...

    New Shed - Camera Suggestions

They're pretty lenient with setbacks there, aren't they? Here in our town, we have a minimum 10-foot setback from the back of the property line for a utility easement and at least 6 feet off the side of the property line. Wouldn't be so bad, but we have septic and an inground pool which occupies...

    Low-cost label maker

Hi all. I'm looking for a low-cost wire label maker to organize my network cable mess. I can't see spending hundreds of dollars on a DYMO as once it's used to organize my cables it will more than likely sit in a drawer or in a cabinet and forgotten. Any suggestions?

PTZ5A4K-25x Stopped working after being in web interface. How to reconnect

This and many of the larger PTZ cameras can use up to 70 watts of power when everything is in motion. You have to remember that there are 3 motors that run when auto tracking is used, which can consume up to 40 watts by themselves, not to mention the power used by the camera portion itself and...

    Back deck/yard camera - 5442 S3 or 4k-X for no-light conditions?

These nifty adaptors help me justify adding a new camera at a given location as I don't have to wedge my fat-old ass through the trusses in the attic of our home in sweltering heat. My collection just keeps getting bigger - I can't help myself By the way, if anyone is interested, there's an...

    Back deck/yard camera - 5442 S3 or 4k-X for no-light conditions?

In the US, a lot use this adaptor to run 2 cameras on one cable as it's weather resistant and the combiner part can be used in a protected application (junction box, stuffed in an eave, etc.): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08JS45B89?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
