Any creative ideas for fence mounting a dahua cam?

I have seen several made from fence boards to resemble a bird house. There are members here on IPCT who have cameras disguised as bird houses. Here is a quick photo that I found to give you an idea.

BI App connects only when I’m on my home WiFi.

Your sons internet provider may not allow open ports or it is not set up in the Windoze firewall and or router. In my case, I use AT&T and Tmobile wireless for home internet and they do not allow open ports. Tailscale and Zerotier take care of that problem. You can also use one of the port...

Having problems with motion detection between Amcrest Cameras and Blue Iris

If the alerts are coming from BI then they will be labeled Motion. If from the camera it will say ONVIF on each alert. I am only using 1 Amcrest T1177 EB AI at this time and use ONVIF instead of BI alerts. I use IVS rules from the camera. In order for that to work, motion detection and smart...

Having problems with motion detection between Amcrest Cameras and Blue Iris

On those cameras I only have detection through BI. ONVIF is not selected under Video-Configure either in this case where it would need to be selected to receive triggers from the cameras configuration.

Having problems with motion detection between Amcrest Cameras and Blue Iris

I do not have any Amcrest 180s but with my Annke 180's, I had to set BI motion detections min object size and min contrast quite low. I used the default Edge Vector and use 100% within the Object Detection screen.

    Recommendation Needed: 30x Optical Zoom

Do not be deceived by the optical zoom numbers. Dahua and Empire Tec provide the focal length which is used to determine the optical zoom. A good example is on the PTZ5A-25X that looney2ns mentioned above. It provides 5.4mm-135mm vari-focal which equates to 25X optical. Most of the cheaper...

The Typical picture of a Perp on Nextdoor-type Apps with Consumer Grade Cameras like Ring, Nest, Arlo, Canary, Wyze, etc.

Ring video shows woman shot, killed in cold blood confronting auto burglars The headline is from an East Texas newspaper where the camera captured the shooting of a lady of 39 years by a 21 year old male. Other sources provided fairly decent photos of the guy captured on the Ring camera. He was...

I see that a lot at night on various cameras when the Texas humidity is high. These are outside cameras and air movement against metal walls seem to intensify it.

Problem installing IPC-T54IR-ZE -- Default Port & IP?

^^^^^. I have never had to use the config tool as TheOtherMike stated, just point your browser to 192.168.1.108 and set it up. My home networks are different but I keep a throw down router set to 192.168.1.xxx that I connect to when setting up new cameras and when some resets are done.

Where are video alerts after current recording?

Not a solution but if you cut those clips from 8 hours to 1 hour it would be easier to find points of interest if needed. Also an 8 hour clip limited to 4 GB could be problematic. Also, I record Video (continuous) but not JPEGS as I don't have a need for them. Other than that, my setup is the...
