4.5.5.0 64bit constant camera drop outs

My cameras are still running. Whoever was doing this must have just stopped or maybe the program was set up to run for only a few days. Then now this begs the question if it's a ticking time bomb. I will still find ways to disable wan access from my cameras though (probably have to upgrade to...

I haven't done anything and the problem seems to have gone away. It has been almost 9 hours. I'll know for sure tomorrow.

How did you block internet from the cameras? Is it a router setting? I have a linksys router, tried turning on parental control for a device but it can still access the web...

4.5.5.0 64bit constant camera drop outs

You can do auto maintenance from within the camera, but mine only goes down to once a day. My next alternative is to hook up the POE switch to a SmartThings z-wave outlet and program it to reboot every 2 hours... lol

4.5.5.0 64bit constant camera drop outs

As a workaround I was going to perform an auto maintenance to reboot the camera every 2 hours but the smallest interval is once a day. Argh... Also cameras don't respond to BI's reboot command. If anyone can figure out how to have BI reboot these cameras then it's a good workaround to just...

4.5.5.0 64bit constant camera drop outs

Saw this article on trendmicro. Coincidentally it was published on 5/9, the day these symptoms started to appear. Persirai: New Internet of Things (IoT) Botnet Targets IP Cameras - TrendLabs Security Intelligence Blog UPnP has been off on my cameras (or maybe it says off but really isn't?)...

Started 9:10AM (Arizona time) on Tuseday. Updated to latest firmware, no difference. Replaced with new POE switch, no difference. I have a total of 3 cameras plugged into the same POE switch. Two of them are the cheap aliexpress cameras I linked above, and the other one is a Dahua 4MP...

2 of my 3 POE cameras all fail at the same time.

You are right. I tried another POE switches and same results. Here is the timeline. The really weird thing is BOTH cameras would go at the same time, just fall of the network. The POE indicator on the camera still blinks so there's power to the cameras. It almost seems like they were...

2 of my 3 POE cameras all fail at the same time.

I have 3 POE cameras plugged into a Rosewill POE switch (model RGS-108P). It had been working fine for about 7 months but a few days ago 2 of the 3 cameras started to fall of the network about every few hours. Restarting the switch would fix the issue, for another few hours. None of the other...

    Viewing on a smart tv

At first I didn't like all the extra borders and frames in the jpegpull.html file. I ended up editing that file to remove everything but the essentials. Now it's showing a full-screen view and I'm very happy with it. What kind of bugs did you run into? It has been working very well for me...

    Viewing on a smart tv

I have several small TVs throughout my house with a Chromecast plugged in the back and I run multiple sessions of Chrome on the BI Server displaying the cameras. Been running them for months non-stop, exceptionally reliable.

Alert sound emitted through web browser

I have two small TVs located in my house, with a Chromecast plugged into each one of them. I also have two sessions of Chrome running on my BI server and each cast a web page to the two TVs. What would be really nice is to have alert sounds emitted in Chrome and thus to my two TVs so I know...

What happens to any recordings when Windows syncs time with a NTP server?

So like you said I manually set the clock back 5 minutes to see what happens. - In timeline view, the 5 minutes of recording disappeared. - However, if you open the clip file by itself, everything is there. There's just a 5 minute offset between the NVR timestamp and BI timestamp.

What happens to any recordings when Windows syncs time with a NTP server?

I was actually researching on how to update my server's time more frequently, but your solution seems to be better since it can keep all the camera's time in sync. Funny you mentioned about daylight savings being a nightmare. I've heard some crappy NVR simply overwrites the hour during...

What happens to any recordings when Windows syncs time with a NTP server?

I'm just curious about how this works... When Windows syncs with the NTP server to adjust the time, what happens to the recordings within the duration of the adjustment? I know Windows 10 syncs its time on a weekly basis, and my machine can sometimes be off by almost 1 minute. What happens to...

Looking for another smtp host for sending emails from BI

I'm currently using outlook.com as my smtp host and occasionally I'd get an email blocked message because I exceed the daily smtp sending limits. What hosts do you guys use? Which ones have the highest daily smtp limit?

Some sections on Christmas lights do not blink

I actually think I know what the problem is. There's a warning on the instructions saying in extreme cold temperature the bulbs might stay lit. I just tried it now (daytime) and they all blink just fine, it's mostly at night when they stop blinking. When you think about it it makes sense...

Some sections on Christmas lights do not blink

I bought these blinking non-LED icicle lights from Wal-Mart. The ones with a red-tipped flashing bulb located every few feet apart. I hung them around the house, but I noticed some sections do not blink. What could be wrong? The red-tipped bulbs are not burned out, they stay lit.

    4.4.9 - November 29, 2016

The problem is on their website only the latest version is made available, whether it be a minor or major release. I think they should separate the major release from the minor releases, or something like beta or stable release. Essentially they should have two branches of code, one focuses on...

    Encrypting footage

Yes I just read an article on how Dropcam was forced by the court to use this guy's video evidence against him in a domestic case. Either way, I'm not going to jump through hoops to get this working, but if there's an easy and free way to do this with no drawbacks, then why not? Just because...

    Encrypting footage

Mine are plugged into a UPS, so power outage shouldn't really be a problem. I wonder if I encrypt the external drives with BitLocker, whether BI service can still access them to transfer files.

    Encrypting footage

Is there any way to encrypt the footage stored by Blue Iris so unauthorized personnel cannot access the footage even if the entire server is stolen? I have a SSD, and two 3TB drives in my setup. Is full disk encryption or bitlocker an option here?

Dahua 4MP turret slight blur towards bottom right corner.

Turning off hardware decoding for that camera fixed it. Thanks.

Dahua 4MP turret slight blur towards bottom right corner.

I've attached a few screen shots with the Video settings as well as what Blue Iris shows when it can't get the video. Basically, for anything 1080P and below, no issues with H.264. Any resolution above that, I get that color bar for about a minute then the error message.

Dahua 4MP turret slight blur towards bottom right corner.

On a side note, Blue Iris is having trouble getting the video feed when using H.264 for any resolution higher than 1080P. If I want 4MP resolution I need to use H.265 (Which I kind of hate because it uses so much CPU, like 20%, even though the bandwidth is lower). Anyone else having issues...
