Yeahbut does the top of the line XI series even do that? Or do you have to have an ALPR capable cam?

new Dahua NVR: 5xxx-EI2 with Video Meta Data & ANPR done by NVR!

Thanks. So searchable plates is the upgrade for me. I think the EI2 will work for me. I don’t need notification or blocklist for controlled entry

Trusting Israel to refrain from war is like trusting your stripper girlfriend to keep her legs closed at an all night frat party

new Dahua NVR: 5xxx-EI2 with Video Meta Data & ANPR done by NVR!

So am I understanding the EI2 will do ANPR through VMD only and no real database or plate # search? Less appealing if so

Fixed lens always has better Fstop than vari-focus lens

    Older building with COAX runs

If you want to switch to all IP cameras you will need a new NVR, and all new cameras. https://empiretech01.com/products/empiretech-16-channels-1u-16poe-2hdd-network-video-recorder-nvr16ch-16p-2ai So figure $400 for NVR plus approx $200 for each camera And you will have to either pull new cable...

0-8.33 Gain 50 Obviously a different scene and there is a bright street light at the far end, approx 100 yds/300ft+ 1/2.8 needs a lot of light (white or IR). Notice jaggies on white car on far lens

    Older building with COAX runs

Are you saying you have Dahua analog cameras in place now and you are planning on keeping them and just need an NVR (XVR actually) to connect them to and manage them? Or are you looking to replace all of the analog cams with IP cams?

    Dahua Remote Access

I shut off P2P at 9:10pm Zero activity since as expected I’ve yet to see P2P do anything other than contact the relay servers providing the route to handshake. This is exactly the way VPNs such as WireGuard work

Yeah…Even on 2MP the 1/2.8 sensor just sucks in low light

When you're all sober tomorrow, think about Iran and Israel both saying they'll respect a ceasefire.... Neither of them have in oh 1000 years or so ...

Sure, if I'd had the 3X hanging around I would have done same as you. If they made it in 4MP with a 1/1.8 sensor I'd buy a bunch of 'em

I had the same problem as you, my "bubble" was well covered but I needed to see activity on and across the street. I went the 5442 Z4 route to compliment me driveway 5442 bullets - about 55-60ft
