    When the recording shows a light in his pocket, the camera is in IR mode. It only switches over to "day time" when he turns on the light. As a result, the light you see in his pocket may very well just be an IR light from his cell phone (most modern cell phones use an IR light for face ID)...

    Thanks everyone. That’s interesting experiences. Unfortunate that BI doesn’t seem to make much of it I set all cams to h265 with I frame matching FPS with CBR. we’ll see if that helps tomorrow. Thank you.

    When I’m viewing cameras on my mobile I notice sometimes before it switches to the mainstream it shows a random clip from a saved video or early time in the day (as shown in this video). It doesn’t happen all the time it’s just sporadic. Any idea how to prevent this?

    As you’ve noted - paper plates and old rusty plates are much more difficult to capture which is why I have brightness a little high. Also I can’t do anything about people not having front plates. Smh.

    Thank you BP I appreciate the link too. I never realized how much quality I was missing. I do record continuous and decided to increase my bit rate to about 4x what I had it at. Incredible increase in quality and detail and I have plenty of hard drive space and CPU to spare. Thank you

    I suspected there was a simple answer I was overloooking. Thank you for this. I have all of them set to VBR but a cap of “4096”. Should I increase that ? I suspect if it’s lower than that I will lose some clarity
