    That's what I suggested to Andy, he said he was going to test it but never heard back about it. I gave up and them and returned the one I had. It's a bummer as it was a nice cam and it's a shame that Dahua can't or won't admit to a problem with them and address it.

    Yes, very thin ones compared to whats on the 5231s i have and I think that is the issue, they're not thick enough or tall enough.

    Ah, a newer unit than ours. I wonder if there was some early production issues that slipped through the cracks and we got them and since yours is newer it doesn't have the loose eyeball issue like ours do.

    Oh man, I hope they don't turn into the Denny's of security cams right when I start to enter the rabbit hole. Anything else in similar price range worth trying? I have 2 - 5231s showing up today so I'll see if they have similar issues to this one and have to decide what to do.

    Yeah, that could work, but why should be have to rig something to keep in place if it's supposed to. I agree and it's a shame as it's a nice camera otherwise. I think at this point I'll send it back as defective and get a 5231 and call it a day.

    Thanks for the the reply. Yeah, I'm just a bit concerned since the turret can be turned when it's locked into place on the 5442, that seems like a security issue to me.
