5.2.8 - May 20, 2020 - Direct-to-disc BVR recording will now include metadata for video overlays

I tried that at first but my OCD went mental, having a vertical camera in amongst 7/8 horizontal ones

You'd probably get a better response with screenshots & sensitivity settings, I suspect the answer lies within.

5.2.8 - May 20, 2020 - Direct-to-disc BVR recording will now include metadata for video overlays

Since switching to Substreams my "motion" zone maps don't seem to align. Night Mode, Motion Zones A, B, C configured with G encompassing all those zones. Yet on playback. My "old" pre-substream Zone is displayed as the area of interest??! Obviously on Playback, its using the "main"...

My Intel GFX and Chipset were also sizeably out. Updated them, but don't really expect that to be a fix. But you never know :)

Just noticed VCRUNTIME140.dll is @ 14.21.27702.2, so quite out of date. Just installed latest 2019 VC++ and will see how it goes (14.26.xxxxx) https://aka.ms/vs/16/release/VC_redist.x64.exe

5.2.8 - May 20, 2020 - Direct-to-disc BVR recording will now include metadata for video overlays

Hello stability, where are you? See if you can notice when I switched to 5.2.8.x... Admittedly, along with 5.2.8.x I switched to H265 & sub streams, so could be one of a myriad of things. H265 Substream usage Intel+VPP encoding Seems to crash 'most' on playback in the console. Which...

    5.2.7.0 - RTSP sub-streams for high-MP cameras

I’m wondering if we’re version limited by the expiration of our support contract. Some heads up would have been nice though!

    5.2.7.0 - RTSP sub-streams for high-MP cameras

Anyone else been ‘dropped’ back to Evaluation Version? I updated from .8 to .12 and now have this. Weirdly only during Live view... my recordings do not display the message. BI shows as not activated, I hit ‘register’ it goes to activated but then shortly drops back. my extended...

I don’t think it’s ever going to work in this situation. (As in, almost certain it’ll never work)

    5.2.7.0 - RTSP sub-streams for high-MP cameras

If you're hoping to copy existing zone maps from one resolution to another you’re going to struggle unfortunately. I’m sure I looked at similar when we upped from v4 to v5 and zones were lost and found that the zones were literally pixel grid references. A pixel grid of 1920x1080 will never...

    5.2.7.0 - RTSP sub-streams for high-MP cameras

I had similar on 5.2.7.0, turned Encoding off & back on, and that seemed to help, probably more fluke than anything though! :smash:

    5.2.2.x Installer

Anyone got an old 5.2.2.x installer laying around. I keep "updating" hoping my problem(s) are fixed, and instead keep finding more problems. Just want to go back to some stability.

    5.2.7.0 - RTSP sub-streams for high-MP cameras

I just grabbed the "update" from https://blueirissoftware.com/updates/, installed it, and then installed the update from inside BI itself.

    5.2.7.0 - RTSP sub-streams for high-MP cameras

FWIW, dropping the Substream info out and returning to "normal" (Main Stream) res, keeps the motion references.

    5.2.7.0 - RTSP sub-streams for high-MP cameras

Well, I've only updated one cam with the substream and my zone A is now "fully" selected (yellow), and all other Zones empty. This is understandable, the "feed" used for this has gone from 2160p to 640x480...

    5.2.7.0 - RTSP sub-streams for high-MP cameras

Have to reconfigure the Motion Zone(s) for this though, right? As the 640x480 sub is now the detection feed?

    Blue Iris Failure

Taken the lazy/technical approach in order to avoid the downgrade and created an on event scheduled task to perform a net stop BlueIris, ping nul 15, net start BlueIris. Followed this guide for anyone interested; Task scheduler – Event Log Trigger – Include Event Data in mail

    Copy Profiles in BI5

Which is exactly why I’ve never reached out to support. Choosing to either accept it, fix it myself or do nothing. In this instance, I simply spent the time to recreate my profiles 1 for 1. Which was a pain, but quicker than waiting weeks for a response to an email :)

Best solution to taking a snapshot at 12:00 daily?

This worked, BUT, it seemingly uses the Record location of the active profile. I did have a Snapshot for setup, but this isn’t being used. Not a big problem, thanks again!

Win 10 migration to newer hardware

Win10 is hugely robust in these situations, as you’ve found, you can seriously abuse it and still usually get it working. Given the age of your base install, I’d almost certainly guess it’s Legacy/BIOS based. I’d consider mbr2gpt and the relevant BIOS to UEFI tweaks, especially whilst you have...

Best solution to taking a snapshot at 12:00 daily?

Since switching to BI5, I’ve introduced a few more schedules, the schedule which straddles midday/12:00 has a dynamic start time based on Sunrise, so simply setting the JPEG Snapshot option to take a snapshot every XX:YY (hh:mm), as offered in the UI, doesn’t really fit my requirements. I have...
