    Analog issue

Thank you for that info, I just realized the power adapter powering this cam was possibly not meant to power a large IR bullet which is what this is (will check the power requirements), the adapter is also powering other smaller cams. I will put this cam on its on adapter and test. Thanks again.

    Analog issue

I was just emailed this image, a screen shot coming from a swann DVR using a Hikvision Analog. Daytime produced a nice image but get horizontal lines only at night. Any known issues to cause this?

Hikvison in question by the Brits - sells them alot of cameras

The serials in email always raised a red flag for me. Definitely not a good security measure and without any valid justification. https://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/7061-Serial-number-embedded-in-email-alerts

    New set up questions.

I think part of the problem is that companies are forced to create higher MP cameras to stay alive in the market yet are tied with smaller size sensors for cost reasons. The outcome is a performer like the 4mp Hik $90 shipped. So glad I did not pay the $160 they were going for, for the US model...

    New set up questions.

Totally get that, but the still image I posted above had plenty of lighting, even using the Huisuns IR and more. My point is not fall for the higher MP chase without seeing night samples with motion. If I had to do it now, I would get the 32ch 12mp Dauhua NVR you (Nayr) mention in other...

    New set up questions.

You should see moving cars, looks like a space show. This is why Im going with 2mp on any new installations until we find a good night performer for cheap. Your Dahua also looks like its lacking a bit, feet are distorted. Now lets compare with a 2mp cheap huisun using an IMX sensor This was...

    New set up questions.

I just took this shot, there are 3 cameras aiming in this direction, one Huisun with its powerful array crossing the street, and 2 4mp's aiming in the same area, one slightly to the right. A street lamp is on and another front-yard light directly in front of the subject. Still images may...

    New set up questions.

I hate the downgrading myself, but seeing the night performance difference leaves no choice if nighttime performance is of significance. The nighttime gain with the 2mp is worth the small daytime loss in quality. Until today all the low light performers provided by Hik such as the darkfighter...

    New set up questions.

I have the 4mp Turrets, great cameras in the day time but useless at night. My plan is to downgrade to 2mp's (much better night shots) until a solid and cost effective solution for nighttime is available for the higher mp's.

    2mp ready system Laview

I came across this model LV-KN988P84A4-T2 as Im looking for a 2mp ready system. Since this is a rebranded Hikvision, should the Huisun work without issues? Making sure before purchase. Also anyone knows of a better Hik rebranded 2mp system. This one is going for $575. 4 cams/2TB/8Ch.

Looking for a good cam with 2 way built in audio

I dont see many options and need your recommendations for a good outdoor cam with built in 2 way audio. Does not have to be a Hik and under $200. Good IR to reach 12 feet and descent night viewing, willing to go with 1080p if no higher res options. Appreciate any recommendations.

    Tp-link vs FCC

Hey Nayr, Im not sure if it was a frequency violation but rather using more power than allowed in the U.S. This would be a very attractive option for users as they gain wider reception area. What grabbed my attention most, is rather then allowing TP-Link to fix the problem in their new...

    Tp-link vs FCC

Strange ruling. The open source requirement is a unique one, as it isn't directly related to TP-Link's violation. Moreover, FCC rules don't require router makers to allow loading of third-party, open source firmware. In fact, recent changes to FCC rules made it more difficult for router...

    Packet loss in email alerts.

So I just switched from Google as alerts stopped working, and went to comcast, but every alert is showing half a pic for the first pic and a normal pic for the second and third. First pic always shows packet loss and can only see 50-70% of the image. Havent messed with the NVR settings other...

    suddenly No plug-in detected

Appreciate it Corey, downloading the latest online only gives 44.0, to get 44.01 one should press update again by pressing the question mark in the options window and this solves the issue. At least for me the issue seems to be isolated to version 44.0 and not 44.01 or 43. Your input was helpful...
