BI 100% CPU running in Parallels VM

I am not saying that it is easy, it could be, but if not enough people want more effective direct record, then it will not be done no matter how easy it is, new fancy features will get implemented instead, you can always buy a better PC or lower fps anyway, right?

BI 100% CPU running in Parallels VM

The only reason why it is inefficient is because it was implemented inefficiently. iVMS is pulling whatever it needs, it may be only substream, or only mainstream or both, depending on your settings and camera view. You can configure iVMS to always record the main stream, that takes ~0,03% of...

BI 100% CPU running in Parallels VM

You could display the substream in BlueIris as well, and use motion detection on it, and trigger alarms on the main stream which would be saved to disk. But the problem is that it would not help you much exactly because of that inefficiency I described. It is clearly possible to implement a...

BI 100% CPU running in Parallels VM

You could try to set Variable bitrate on your camera, it can save a lot of bandwidth and also CPU (~15%). Not sure in which case pre-buffer consumes CPU, but I have not measured any additional usage even with 150 frames. The problem with BlueIris is that it consumes so much CPU even when it...

BlueIris 32 bit version might use less memory, try it.

viewing and recording different quality streams

So using registered version helped a little bit (v4.6.1.2 now): 1920*1080 15fps (direct record, variable bitrate) -hidden 27% vs 42% before -small window 44% vs 60% before -hidden with motion detection: 29% vs 43% before -constant bitrate minimized, no motion detection, no recording: 43% vs...

viewing and recording different quality streams

I may have 11x 3mpx hikvsions, most of them in very low fps, I have one i5-4590 here so I will test how it goes. I am not even sure if i7 is really worth it, it should handle x264 30% faster, but I have not seen any benchmarks with Blue Iris. I guess I will have to make one. :) It is 59.95 +...

viewing and recording different quality streams

That sounds strange, because playback does not have any overlay demo text. The price in my country would be actually 630 USD for i7-4790K, cheapest mobo, 4GB DDR3, Seasonic 350W, Windows 7, no case, no HDD. And the BlueIris itself which is sold for 50USD on wrightwoodsurveillance costs 80 USD...

viewing and recording different quality streams

Yes, the price is awesome, having to buy a new PC and pay more of electric bills not so much. I tried to measure some things, not sure if my measurements are totally off because of the demo overlay text - that would be stupid... Vista 32bit, aero disabled, really slow Intel Pentium Dual...

viewing and recording different quality streams

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bus_factor I configured those substreams, but I really miss a switch to the main stream and basically the way IVMS 4200 works. I will try to configure motion detection on the preview, and trigger a camera group which contains the main stream, and set a delay 5...

viewing and recording different quality streams

Hard to believe that only one guy develops it, that's pretty bad bus factor. Anyways, has he ever said anything about it? Is it on the roadmap? It sounds like a basic feature to me.

iVMS-4200 Client (v2.3.1.3) won't playback motion detection events

I have a camera which supports it, I can configure it, and it works all correctly. I also changed a quota for storage to have space for additional informations and pictures. I do not see why it would need a support from camera to playback, there is nothing saved there, everything should be in...

Recording records to late in middle of frame?

I am using continuous record, I would like to play my events 10s before the action, pre-frame trigger 150 for 15fps video did not make any difference. :(

Custom Firmware Downgrader 5.3.0 Chinese to 5.2.5 English

I have a problem with event playback, it seems that iVMS Client thinks that the camera does not support it - please see http://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/5241-iVMS-4200-Client-(v2-3-1-3)-won-t-playback-motion-detection-events?p=45702&viewfull=1#post45702 Any ideas?

iVMS-4200 Client (v2.3.1.3) won't playback motion detection events

Not even v2.02.03.03 and v2.00.08.50 work for me. Could it be a problem with my cameras? Which version do you use? This is from ClientLog.txt: [2015-09-06 16:15:42,055][PGT][ERROR]CPlaybackEvent::FindEventFilesOnce NET_DVR_FindFileByEvent failed, error code =...

ivms-4200 sms stream media server setup

It is really confusing, but you need to add cameras on your second PC the same way as was done on the first one (add Encoding Devices, then configure Streaming Media Server and check all cameras), you will then see that the streaming server has more outgoing connections than incoming ones...

iVMS-4200 Client (v2.3.1.3) won't playback motion detection events

That worked fine for me, is it the same version? I also tried a little bit older version 2.3.0.5 which did not playback events as well.

iVMS-4200 Client (v2.3.1.3) won't playback motion detection events

software: iVMS-4200 Client (v2.3.1.3) + Storage server + Stream server camera: DS-2CD2032F-I firmware 5.2.5 (from china, there is a note on the back which says "v5.3.0" so I guess they loaded an old english firware on it) system: Windows Vista Motion detection works fine, but the Event Playback...
