Coyote nabs one of my chickens - Thermal vs. Optical

Looks to me like you’ll need to trap that yote. Even if you where on scene, ready to take a shot, there was no opportunity.

    EmpireTech 9th Anniversary (Summer)Sales

Buy a few now, they are cheap enough. Then once the sale starts buy some cameras and get the included tickets. This lets you break up your lottery numbers a little bit. When you buy 5 tickets you’ll get 5 consecutive numbers. Then later when you get the camera tickets they will be a different...

New fire tablets on sale at Amazon

so thats what I am hoping to do, run UI3 24/7 with the tablet mounted on the wall. Are you running UI3 through the silk browser? Does it just stay running? How are you stopping the tablet from going to the lock screen? How about power - are you simply keeping the tablet plugged in always...

New fire tablets on sale at Amazon

From what I understand it’s $15 to remove ads once you have the device. Still way cheaper then the ad free version from the start. I only want it for viewing BI UI3. There may be a hack using Fire toolbox to avoid the lock/ home screen altogether. Upon wake up just have it go directly to UI3...

In-ground conduit for cam related cables

Also no real need to run schedule 40 for the whole thing. I’ll use it if there is a rough spot but generally only use sch.40 when coming out of house or anything above ground. Sometimes you want the pipe to break when disturbed. It’s never any fun showing up to a repair where a backhoe caught a...

In-ground conduit for cam related cables

I’ve never used the hunter mp rotator that you suggested although I have pulled a few of them out. They are a maintenance monster. None of those rotator spray nozzles are worth much and as a professional I will never install one. Why not use a head actually designed to rotate? Rain bird...

In-ground conduit for cam related cables

Are you planning pvc or poly for your irrigation system? I am pvc only. I still maintain pvc systems that my dad put it when he knew he was drafted to Vietnam. If you’re using PVC then I would suggest using this valve...

In-ground conduit for cam related cables

I’ve been installing irrigation systems professionally for almost 40 years. Never have I run irrigation multi strand wire in a conduit. NEVER! I don’t even start to think about voltage drop till 500 feet from the control. Plan your valve manifold locations accordingly. Pipe is cheaper than...

Firmware upgrade, empiretech cam - How? / Having Trouble connecting 180cam

So received 100 modular RJ45 connectors from Monoprice. Did not solve my connection problem with this particular camera. Turns out the female camera RJ45 connector is bad. I can make or break connections by wiggling the one factory patch cable that does work. When comparing the male RJ45...

RJ45 connectors - are they all the same?

I did order 100 modular connectors from monoprice -- hopefully that solves a problem for me... Can I use the same pass thru crimp tool or do I need something different -- I've had no issues using the crimper https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YC9TQKH?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

Gotta figure the 180 needs more power than a regular camera -- there is 2 of everything and then a lot more going on with the internal processor You could try an external power source if you have one...

Switch says it's AT compliant -- POE+ but did I actually measure it?? I'm confident that my problem is the cable matters connector and that particular 180 camera female connector -- It was a refurb from empiretech. None of my other cameras have issues with the amazon/cable matters connectors...

The following is just copied from another thread where I was starting to get info. It is out of context here but once again may help someone with similar issue using the search feature. So this is starting to point more towards a camera issue... What I've done: New RJ45 ends, both sides cam...

I've edited the title to reflect what this thread evolved into. Just to help the search engine. If there is anyone that is following along I am 100% sure what the connection issue is. The amazon cable matters pass through RJ45 connectors I am using do not work with this particular...

RJ45 connectors - are they all the same?

I haven’t had a problem terminating my cat 6 wire. I may be having a problem with the current rg45 connector I’m using and it’s compatibility with a female rg45 on a 180 camera from empiretech. Not sure what my problem actually is, just considering all options. I do use pass thru, made for cat...

RJ45 connectors - are they all the same?

Those of you with more experience then me, I have a question. Are all RJ45 connectors the same or are there small differences with different brands/sellers? Where do you buy a good reliable connector for terminating your cables?

Firmware upgrade, empiretech cam - How? / Having Trouble connecting 180cam

Thought of another variable... When on the bench, the patch cable isn’t made by me. Not that my cable is defective but maybe this certain camera’s female rj45 does not work well with the rj45 male connector I’m using. maybe just 1 pin isn’t making contact.

Firmware upgrade, empiretech cam - How? / Having Trouble connecting 180cam

I ended up pulling the camera wires from the junction box. No change -- still no camera signal when hooked up to 110 feet of cat 6. It's unplugged now -- I'll play with it tomorrow This doesn't make any sense.

Firmware upgrade, empiretech cam - How? / Having Trouble connecting 180cam

I'm starting to find a pattern. I happened to have another run of wire already in place in the attic going to almost the same spot. PTZ will go on this wire eventually. Anyway, I put an end on the wire and brought part of my test rig up into the attic. Hooked up the 180 cam on the test rig...
