    The official "WTF" thread

    So after the first 2 or 3 it doesn't dawn on you that the because of how the tree sits and where you're cutting it that the tree's weight applies leverage, closing up the sawcut and binding the saw's chain? As looney2ns would say..."What a maroon." :facepalm:

    US Elections (& Politics) :)

    I know an occupation that could use an infusion of wisdom and competence and needs filling immediately........high school career counselor. The mentality that everyone must go to college and if you don't you're a failure is BS and has been for some time now. No one shoe fits all and we need...

    US Elections (& Politics) :)

    Tie her hands and she wouldn't be able to speak......and I'd like that. If certain unemployed people would be willing to accept just $25 an hour to clean their streets Oakland could look much, much nicer than it has for many years AND might allow the wokers workers to move in off the...

    The official "WTF" thread

    My first thought? The person shooting the video needs to stop and help. :smash: My second thought was if she was experienced she would not have allowed the snake as much time as she did once it began the first coil....she reacted MUCH too slowly. Maybe a good lesson learned, the hard way...

    Distracted driving comes with a price

    Dude looked up at 4 second mark but saw nothing, might have had a second to swerve into other lane or go off to clear country side, no time to actually stop in time. That appears to be a tall class A or class AC motorhome and so I'll wager he was doing 80.

    EU follies

    I did not denigrate them, I gave reason for their struggles. Knowing that is why I said "....The few that do know have little or no voice, are too weak to resist...." C'mon....to be fair, include ALL of the text in one's post. :cool:

    EU follies

    Too few of them remain that recall the allies of the west at the time, the U.S., Canada, Australia and others, that fought, shed blood and died there on their soil in WW's to regain their freedoms and liberties. They have discarded that, like they were soiled rags, trash beneath their feet...

    is POE++ a reliable option?

    Definitely. The specs say that unit can supply up to 30w per port and a max total of all ports of 64w. It's outdoor-rated also in those same specs but I'd still mount it out of direct weather if at all possible and use dielectric grease on the ports.

    Parking lot light pole camera install

    Since 277v has come up let me explain why the "odd' voltage since most of us know about 120 and 240 volt, as in residential, split-phase, 3 wire ciircuits but some may not know about the reasoning behind 277 volt lighting. :cool: In many industrial settings that run large electrical machinery...

    Those "eyes", more commonly known as a "PEC" for "PhotoElectric Cell", it's used when the light fixture is always hot and the PEC does the dusk-to-dawn switching. If it's a NEMA twist-lock PEC you can actually determine from the ground the fixture's switching voltage by the color of the PEC...

    Naw, if you are sure the pole is properly grounded make it a foot or so out of the box's bottom and into the pole, thraed screw bolt into drilled & tapped hole, maybe 1/4-20. Crimp a captive lug or use a servit lug on that wire to fasten onto the new bolt for that new threaded hole. Use copper...
