    Once the service is established and camera is provisioned and up and running it starts streaming UDP packets from the inside IP on source port 1000 to my publicly facing IP over destination ports in the 52000 range. This is obviously the actual video footage.

    Looking deeper into the packets. It's making calls out to 224.0.0.251 on port 5353 over protocol MDNS with this address HIKVISION&HSDB2&XXXXXXXX&NOTH._http._tcp.local. Replaced my Serial Number with the XXXXXXXX.

    The Hik and all the variants are not compatible with digital chimes. It has to be analog/mechanical. Not sure why but digital chime definitely didn’t work. I bought a $15 ding dong door bell. Wasn’t exactly what I wanted but not the end of the world.

    You would need to set it up BI to launch as a service or setup the computer to auto login and launch at startup which is what I do on mine. Make sure the bios of the PC is set to power on after power failure.

    Yeah mine does it too. I turned the mic down really low to cut most of it out. I just think the gain is really high already on these things. I can hear my neighbor talking in his garage 50ft away when it’s 1/4 of the way up. That’s perspective.
