How to make BI run as service before login

Is this what you're referring to? How do I access the web interface with no active login on the PC?

How to make BI run as service before login

I wait long enough so I can RDP into the PC which all other services should be running as well. I can't look at services.msc without logging in first which logging in starts BI service. I haven't checked the event viewer log but will do so. I haven't had problems with anything else though.

How to make BI run as service before login

Cross post from https://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthread.php/10212-BI-not-recording-after-power-loss-services-running Not much action there. So I did a test and wanted to make sure BI was in fact recording motion in the event of a power failure after the PC reboots itself. Nada... I pulled the...

BI not recording after power loss/services running

Anyone know where I can get the above information? I looked through the help section but all I saw was "enable services". The only way I can think of a work around is to run BI under a non-admin account in windows that doesn't require a login password. But that kind of defeats the purpose...

BI not recording after power loss/services running

So I did a test and wanted to make sure BI was in fact recording motion in the event of a power failure after the PC reboots itself. Nada... I pulled the power from the PC waited a minute and connected the power cord back up (simulating power failure). Once back to the log in screen I went and...

    Cam IP randomness

Nayr schooled me. I never even considered just assigning in the router and managing it that way. At work (which I happen to work for a ISP provider) I assign everything an IP but that's for MPLS networks and such on business class networks. One thing to mention, I did try and set a camera do...

    Cam IP randomness

Are you having issues with your assigned IP's? Everything I've ever assigned, I've done it on the router and the end unit. This is the first time I've ever had an issue like this. I ISP dishes out dynamic too but their DHCP lease time lasts longer than between my interval of changing routers...

    Cam IP randomness

Well well, it looks like we might be getting somewhere. I set each camera to DHCP (already had IP mapped to Mac addys in my router) then went to verify my DHCP pool which I thought I had set up correctly because I have other devices attached statically for years that I've never had a problem...

    Cam IP randomness

Oh ok, I thought you were suggesting I could set some static routes. Yeah, the last thing I want is some special configuration to make this work. I haven't dug to deep into IPv6 yet. Waiting till I have to. Using IE makes sense as that is what it seems to be doing (not really saving my...

    Cam IP randomness

I've managed to have two of them stable for an hour now. I did move switch ports for sh!ts and giggles. And for a test I disconnect one from the switch, plugged it back in and the IP was address had changed again. I set it back and the camera came back up. Like I said it's like there's a save...

I'm a Network Tech and assign IP addresses all day long to equipment and I've never seen anything like this.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just checked and uPnP is already disabled.

    Cam IP randomness

I recently decided to upgrade my surveillance system to Amcrest PoE sold by Foscam and Blue Iris. Network gear is a Netgear R7000 router and Cisco Catalyst 2960 PoE 24 port switch, three IP2M22E cameras My problem is the cameras are randomly changing their own IP's according to the software...

Camera Suggestions for use with BI

I bought three Amcrest (IP2M822E) cameras and can't get a single one to keep a static IP. These things have done the most random things I've ever seen. Could I get some recommendations on some good cameras in the $100 price range that have worked well for you BI users? I have about 8 hours of...

Power lead and another on PoE camera

No, these things are junk. I was able to reset it and get access back but as soon as I assign a static IP they lose their mind which is making me lose mine! 192.168.1.200 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1 DNS auto is greyed out so I assign 8.8.8.8 Sometimes the camera tells me invalid entry or it...

Power lead and another on PoE camera

The quacks with customer service said I had to take the unit apart and short two brass connectors together for the reason of my post above. Thanks though!

Power lead and another on PoE camera

These are junk too, at least software wise. BI found one but not the others. I'm hesitant to install 3rd party software when not needed but I did, so I could access the cameras. The three I bought were found by the software itself after installing not BI. I logged into the first one, changed the...

Power lead and another on PoE camera

If it's audio I've never seen one like this in my 42 years of life. I'm new here so I'll try posting a pic as I do on other forums.

Power lead and another on PoE camera

I bought some QCAM IP2M822E and there is a power connection and some other connection that looks like a fiber connector with the cap on it. I'm assuming the power lead is for non PoE switches but what is this other contraption? As usual these days no documentation come with anything and the...

Auto Restart BI if it crashes

Awesome! :D I'm creating a new task to bypass the UAC you posted in some other thread that I kept handy.

Auto Restart BI if it crashes

Thank you for the greeting and quick reply. So if running as a service without the console launched will recordings still take place? If it is, and I hope that's the case, I'm still left scratching my head why the console will not launch when placed into startup.

Auto Restart BI if it crashes

I downloaded BI for the evaluation period and this is the first thing I checked while waiting for my cameras to arrive. I followed the instructions and enabled run as a service which has been verified through msconfig that startup is enabled and the service is running. If it is I can't find it...
