    2CD2342WD-I vs 2CD2332-I resolution

For the mainstream setting you have currently your bitrate is way to low on the 2342. At those settings the bitrate would need to be around 5700. If you don't want to go that high keep all the settings where they are but change video quality to medium and set bitrate at 3420. Keep bitrate type...

    Hikvision viewers freeze

Your bitrate is too low for those settings. Keep it at 1920*1080, medium video quality, 12fps, and 2063 bitrate, I-frame interval-50. let me know if the freezing stops?

    Hikvision viewers freeze

this freezing is usually (not always) caused by a slow network or camera settings being to high. What are your camera setting- Quality, fps, bitrate?

    Hikvision 2CD2T42WD-I5 Bullet EXIR experiences

Sure the specs are better but yes they are a little bigger but not as bulky as the pictures make them out to be. Look great hanging on my house. I've seen the 4mp and they very nice too.

    IP camera network connection problems

You connect it to nvr and you can view so nvr and camera are fine, Did you try connecting to a different port on the switch? not all ports on a switch are POE are you definitely connected to a POE port?

    Hikvision DS-2CD2342WD-I 2.8mm or 4mm Lens?

^ I agree that you may be better using additional IR illuminators as most feedback I've heard is that the 4MP is not noticeably better than the 3MP in low light applications. As for lens 2.8 will give larger viewing and less detail: 4mm smaller viewing area more detail. My experience I like h...

    No substream on iVMS-4200

I had this happen once before. I lowered The settings and rebooted the machine and it was fixed. Trying to remember if I had to do anything else it was a while ago.

Adding 2nd camera practically kills first

Unless you are familiar with the router settings I would not mess with MHz settings. These should only be adjusted if you are broadcasting 2.4ghz and 5.0Ghz. If your not sure then don't go changing settings you know nothing about. It does increase you chance of overlapping and interference but...

    Blue lines DS-2CD3345-I

If it's showing on ivms that definitely looks exactly like a area that was drawn. The same it looks on mine.it's a event that was drawn.

You have an event setting like intrusion detection on. Go to event menu and turn off or delete drawing.

okay this is what you want. you already have router running to loft. place the nvr and switch in loft. plug router into lan of nvr. run cat6 from one of ports from nvr to a port on switch. it does not matter if the port you plug into on the switch is poe or not you are just transferring data...

    No substream on iVMS-4200

Okay so looking at you substream settings they are way to high and using more bandwidth than is needed. change the setting to the following: resolution- CIF 352*240 quality- medium frame rate- 8 max bitrate- 128 the image should still look great but now for all 3 cameras instead of using...

    Hikvision Requirements

As alastairstevenson stated your image quality, fps, and bitrate are going to affect the length of recorded video. You should have no issues adjusting these to get one week of recording. I have 7 cameras and 4tb of memory which get me about 2 months of storage. I would recommend 2tb is more than...

newby needs your valuable help with set up

Go into the NVR and turn on virtual host and as long as you are connected to the same network you can access the cameras wirelessly.

    NVR Not Stable

I'm talking network speeds to see the cameras remotely not the switch. set up still makes no sense regardless of your numbers. somewhere its not being distributed well or it would not be unstable.

New Home Install - A few questions

I prefer the turret! i like the look bettter. just one larger IR to side of lense. domes tend to have IR bleed. I have two of the 3mp turrets and love them. the 2742 dome has a motorized lense which is nice the turret is fixed.

    NVR Not Stable

why 2 nvr's and all cameras connected to both? you are working the equipment and network way harder than needed. plus you have a 16 port switch. all you need is the switch and 1 nvr. you probably don't have the bandwith to run 2 nvr's.
  29. P

IP Camera and NVR setup advice please !

run all cameras back to poe switch. then run poe switch back to nvr and router to nvr. have poe and nvr in loft. that way if anyone breaks in the chances of them going to loft to rip out equipment is minimal. also I imagine easier to hide wire in loft. you can find virtual host on web browser...
